Dourdan, 41, pleaded guilty to counts of cocaine and Ecstasy possession at his arraignment in Indio, California on Wednesday. Following his arrest on April 28, Dourdan faced three counts of felony drug possession and up to three years and eight months behind bars. The third charge of heroin possession was dismissed. Dourdan received no jail time, but was ordered to complete the 16-class drug program. Once he completes the program the charges will reportedly be dismissed. Shawn Chapman Holley, Dourdan’s attorney, said, "As a result of today’s proceedings, Gary has been given diversion (a drug treatment program). He very much regrets what happened and he’s very embarrassed by what occurred, but he’s looking forward to moving on and getting back to work."

Dourdan, 41, was arrested in Palm Springs on April 28 after police found him sleeping in his car a little after 5 a.m. His car was reportedly parked on the wrong side of the street and the interior light was on. He was found to be in possession of heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and prescription drugs. He was arrested and posted $5,000 bail and was released. Dourdan originally claimed that the drugs were not his.

Even though he claimed that the drugs were not his, a CSI insider revealed that the cast has been worried about him and that the arrest was not a surprise. The insider said, "After this, I think there will be a concerted effort to convince Gary to get help – before he kills himself." Dourdan has played Warrick Brown, a crime scene investigator, on the CBS hit show CSI for the past two years, in the season finale of the show his character was killed off and it has been said that his contract was up.
