Crystalline - Chapter Two
Adonnenniel and Beleg become more close.

I nodded slowly, "Tancave..." I spoke softly, which meant "yes" in elven. He seemed to get hypnotized momentarily before taking my hand into his warm one. We walked down to a river close to a bunch of huge flowers. I was becoming more amused by this world everyday and every minute. I recalled a time ago in my own time when my band was getting ready to do a gig at a local bar. We did a song called "Lips of an Angel" that reminded me of him. The song wasn't written by us. It was written by a group called Hinder. I didn't tell him that. Something I couldn't make go away between him and I was the temptation I never wanted to leave his side.
The unexplainable was something that was the story of my life. I had never had too many boyfriends in elementary school, middle, nor high school. I was too old and concerned to believe in a fairytale romance. That type of thing just didn't exist. I was used to that being the story of existence for me. But for some reason Beleg was different from the guys in my old-time. He wasn't anything like them. Beleg plopped down on a soft spot of grass near the water's edge. He threw a stone in it and then turned to me, "Nature is all around us...in the air...in the grass beneath our feet...and in yourself. Every time you look at nature, there is a part of you in it."
A wisp of hair fell loosely in my eyes. He stared at me and then lowered his lips to mine. When he let go I could feel the breeze touch my skin. He looked into my eyes, "I need to finish telling you the prophecy. The prophecy said there would be a girl and a boy to marry that would be the next king and queen of Crystalline. They would fight the evil that plagues their world. They would love with a love greater than that found in any book."
My breath caught in my throat. What was he preferring to exactly. My eyes locked with his and as if destiny joined us together his hand brushed my cheek. His lips almost touched mine. His breath teased my lips as he whispered, "That boy and girl is you and I, Adonnenniel. From the moment this world began our fates were made to intertwine." I was so caught up in the moment I didn't realize that perhaps it was fate drawing me to this moment all along. Our lips touched and my world whirled around me.
Something in my heart lurched forward and a warm feeling slid through me. Beleg let go and our breathing labored he chuckled, "It's like a collision of something, isn't it? And then the warm feeling...it spreads through you like an aftershock. I will always be with you and a part of you, my heart. Tell me that you do not feel the same." I raised an eyebrow. I suddenly felt like I was in one of my childhood books. True love was something that happened in only fairy tales. I was no princess in reality and this had to be a dream. Beleg had to be a dream.
The next thing I knew Beleg pulled me to my feet and held me close, "Soon there must be a wedding. You must have my last name as protection, Adonnenniel. If you were to get lost or away from me if nothing else would protect you it would be my last name." I raised my eyebrow and sighed, "Look you're a really sweet guy but I ain't got no desire to marry you, Beleg. Soon I'll wake up from all this and find out it was only a dream."
Beleg seemed to get angry at my assumptions. He jerked my arm roughly, "Is this all this is to you? A dream? All the talking and fighting and training you've been doing lately only seems to be a dream? If this were a dream, would my lips feel real on yours? Would the warm sensations be just that, when I touch you? A dream!? Of all the rude remarks anyone has ever made to me that one has to be the first that outweighed them all!" Tears scalded the back of my eyes. They poured down my cheeks but I became angry as well. I glared at him and stood up my full height.
Elves were taller, or seemed especially taller when they stood their full height. I glared, "Do you understand when I say I can think it only as a dream? I mean I'm sixteen winters old, have a little brother, and I am still in high school. Things like this do not happen to a normal teenage girl. Why would my father create a land...none of this makes any sense to me...."
He got up and crossed over to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and held me close to him momentarily, "Nothing in life makes sense sometimes, Adonnenniel. Sometimes you just have to take whatever comes and go with the flow of things. We're made for each other. Can you not tell from the way I look at you and the way our bodies fit together that we were made for each other?"
His blue eyes held me in enchantment. I agreed to marry him finally with a little persuasion that if I didn't, I could be making the biggest mistake of my life. And truly deep down this began to make a little sense to me. My father created a world where he knew I would one day return. It wasn't created, but then again here I was. It was hard to understand but soon I would come to realize that deep down this would be forever where I belonged.
