Crystal Harris Secretly Planned to Dump Hugh Hefner at the Altar
Crystal Harris was to receive a large sum of money to dump Hugh Hefner at the altar before the entire wedding was called off this week.
On Tuesday, the wedding that was to take place between Playboy magnate Hugh Hefner and his much-younger bride-to-be Crystal Harris was canceled. What has been made clear since then, however, is that Harris' initial, devious plan was to wait until the two were at the altar to dump the older man. The information comes from Page Six, whose sources have found that there was a scheme afoot that involved a great sum of money for Hefner to be left embarrassed.
Noted a column on Page Six, "She secretly planned to ditch the Playboy mogul at the altar in return for a $500,000 media deal." Apparently, Harris was to walk down the aisle with about 300 guests watching - at the Playboy Mansion of course - and then tell Hefner that she had gotten cold feet. The article went on, "The wedding was to be filmed for a reality special, and her refusal to marry him would be a sensation. She was looking for a tie-in deal of around $500,000 for the exclusive 'I ditched Hef at the altar' interview."
Harris' manage claims to have had no knowledge of the deal, though he did go on record as saying that certain rumors about his client - that she had cheated on Hefner with Jordan McGraw, the son of Dr. Phil - were "absolutely incorrect" and a "total fiction." He went on to note that his client's split from Hefner was friendly and without discord. Harris herself called into Ryan Seacrest's radio show to talk about the issue, saying, "We had a long talk about it. I feel happy and at peace that everything will be OK and I respect him more than anything. We're still going to be really close."
