Crying Out

Lies you believe...
Your smile is empty
Your kiss so very cold
Her arms are bare
But she knows its you she holds

All the memories that you want to hide
Are somewhere deep inside your mind
I know you try hard to forget
But you know they’ll haunt you till the end of time.

I know you see her in your arms
Your hands playing with her hair
You know you can’t have that again,
You know it’s more than you can bear.

I know you see untainted love
It’s shining brightly in her eyes
You know you gave it all up
Even now you watch as it slowly dies.

I know you tried to make her believe again
Telling her everything she’d hoped to hear
You know you stayed up most of the night
Another memory you’ll always fear

I know it’s your head that’s aching
But it’s her tortured soul that’s torn
You know her heart is breaking
It’s the only burden you’ve ever borne

As you lie beside her
In your empty bed
All that surrounds you,
Is your love, cold, lifeless, dead.
