Crimson

Crimson is tied to a sacrifice pole; she hopes she'll be found by the right group of vampires…
I struggled against the rope which held me suspended from the wooden pole and cursed again. I had been up here for nearly an hour now and my hands were starting to go blue not to mention I was freezing.

Maddeningly my feet were only inches from the ground, I was convinced that if I could take the weight off my hands for just a second I could slip my hands out. I stretched my toes out but it was useless. I only hoped that one of the order found me, other wise I’d be dead.

How many times did we have to tell these villagers, putting out a human sacrifice makes no difference, the vampire just comes back later when they get hungry.

I could hear foot steps in the snow now and looked for some way to get my hands free but the pole was smooth and the ropes too tight with my weight on them.

"Stop struggling its only me." I looked over to see a tall man with black hair and dark eyes walking towards me.

"I didn’t mean to get captured like this by the way." I said and he smiled.

"Why did they strip you down to your underwear?" I looked down at the torn white under shorts and breast band I was wearing and blushed.

"They seemed to think it would make me more... tasty."

"Well they weren’t wrong." He looked me up and down now only a meter away and reached out tracing the muscles of my abdomen.

"Come on, let me down." I said not liking the fact that I powerless to stop him.

"Oh no not quite yet I don’t think." He came closer till his face was only a few inches from mine but instead of kissing me he ran his hands through my waist length black hair sweeping it off the right side of my neck.

"Please." Even though I didn’t think he’d take any of my blood my body started trembling. "Jordan, please stop." My voice shook as he kissed my neck, obviously enjoying the feeling of my pulse underneath his pale lips. It seemed to go on forever until my body started to shake with fear.

"Jordan…" he pulled away and with one hand undid the rope that held me up. I dropped to the ground pushed him away jump kicking him hard in the stomach. He backed away with a grin as I sank to the ground leaning against the pole trying to get some air into my lungs.

"That was not funny." I gasped as he came over.

"Relax Crimson, I wasn’t going to hurt you." He knelt down and tried to pull me into his arms but I rolled to the side, being elusive is my speciality, there’s something in my blood which makes me able to disappear into shadows.

"Come on Crimson, please, I was in control all the time."

"That was to close for me, I’m human remember." I said to him leaning against the pole.

"I won’t do it again." He looked at me in wide eyes full of reproach and I found myself wanting to be in his arms after all. I shook the feeling out and tried to run but he was too fast as most vampires are and had me pinned under him on the ground in the blink of an eye.

"Jordan, you’re too close again." He smiled and leaned closer until I could smell the sent of cinnamon in his black hair.

"Crimson, you’re too attractive again." He lowered his lips to mine and I tried to ignore the hollow ache that twinged in my abdomen. He ran his calloused fingers down my side creating a trail of goose bumps. He was too good a kisser and I found myself wanting to kiss him back. I rolled on top of him and suddenly did a hand spring backwards taking me out of his range.

"Oh come on." He took a deep breath and flipped to his feet taking a step forward as I took one back.

"You wont fool me again." I said but a moment later he was by my side having transported one of the things that took up a great deal of his power. "Dam it." I cursed as he pinned my arms by my side looking to kiss me again.

"Jordan!" someone called, "Jordan, did you find her?" it was Dion captain of the citadel guard. Jordan looked up to see Dion come out from the trees.

"Come on let her go, the order want her information." Jordan gave me a quick kiss before letting me go.

"Can you transport with her to the citadel, I’m afraid I’m still not fully recharged from that last battle."

"Ok." Jordan gathered me into his arms again and I wrapped mine around him which he was pleased about. He closed his eyes and I felt the stirring of his power against my chest.

I closed my eyes and lent my head against his chest as we transported to the ring of light in the citadel, one of the many made in old times where you can transport over long distances. As for short range you only need to see where you are going.

I opened my eyes to the dim torch lit stone hall to find that during teleportation the rip in my shorts was now all the way up to my waist band. Jordan looked down at it.

"Oops, was an accident."

"You’re the best teleporter in the citadel." He didn’t answer just ran his hand up my leg. I slapped it pulling out of his arms and taking one of the robes off the wall by the ring for teleportation mistakes.

He managed to pin me to the wall and I sighed.

"You never give up."

"You know me; I’m a persistent one." He smiled "take care Crimson, I don’t want to see you dead." With that he stepped onto the ring of light and was gone leaving me to face the head of intelligence.
