Cries of Innocence

Protect Your Child...
You may not like the words you read
But the choice to continue is yours
Too often we take what isn’t ours
Just because there’s an open door

The sins of the father and all that jazz
Are rested on the son
And daughters seem to suffer most
When no one hears her cries

It may be an uncle or cousin or friend
That takes there innocence away
As painful as this truth can be
It happens every day

You are entrusted with a miracle
A blessing with no measure
Their guardian against misdeed
A joy in life, your treasure

You may never know this hurt and pain
So keep them in your prayers
Because once it’s taken, it can’t be returned
And can cloud their hearts with fear
