Creating a Peaceful Environment in Your Bathroom with an Asian Vanity

Remodeling your bathroom does not have to cost much and is a project that you can complete very easily. If you are planning on replacing the plumbing, then you may want to hire a plumber if your knowledge of pipes is limited.
When looking at completing this project yourself, you should consider what your strengths and weaknesses are. If you do not think you are up to the task, you can always hire contractors that will do the work for you. They will also take care of any plumbing needs in the bathroom.

For many people, choosing an Asian vanity that is built-in or free standing creates a relaxing environment that will allow you to unwind after a long day. Asian vanities are meant to become part of the overall affect of the room and not stand out. They add a little architectural interest to a room that may small or boring.

Choosing Your Asian Vanity

The first step to remodeling a bathroom is to decide which Asian vanity will look the best in the bathroom. Depending on the size of the bathroom, you may not have too many choices. For small bathrooms, a free standing unit will be the best choice. Because they usually do not have cabinets, the sink does not take up much room. Choosing the right size pedestal is what you will have to concentrate on. Measure the area of the bathroom where you are installing the vanity to see if a thinner or thicker pedestal will fit.

You may also need to change the paint color, floor tiles, and current color scheme in the bathroom to reflect the Asian theme you are going for. If you currently have a white bathroom, then you will want to add subtle color to it to make it feel cozy and comfortable instead of clinical and cold. Asian vanities are supposed to make you feel relaxed. This will definitely contrast with the white tiles on your walls and floor.

If you have a large bathroom, a free standing vanity may seem lost in the room. You have the room, so why not have a built-in unit put into the bathroom? Not only will you be able to store all of your toiletries in the cabinets underneath, you will also clear away the clutter that can cause stress. Built-in units are more expensive and will take more time, but they are worth it when you have a large bathroom that you want to remodel.

Choosing Countertop Materials

Once you have determined which unit to install, you will have to decide which materials to use for the countertops. Most traditional Asian vanities have countertops that are made from granite or glass. If more than two people will be using the bathroom, you may want to get the granite countertops as glass to smudge very easily.

You will notice a difference immediately in your newly remodeled bathroom. Your bathroom will no longer be cluttered with items; it will now be a clean, relaxing environment that you will want to spend a lot of time in.
