Craigslist Killer Also Solicited Gay Men Online

In new revelations of the mind and psyche of accused Craigslist killer Philip Markoff, NBC News is reporting that he also targeted gay men when stalking his online prey.
The writing seems to be clearly on the wall at this point for Philip Markoff - he is going to be headed to jail for a long time. New evidence in the increasingly bizarre case of the Craigslist killer has revealed the Markoff was also soliciting gay men on the Internet. In addition to e-mail conversations that he had with at least one man, he also forwarded the man several naked and provocative pictures of himself during the course of their correspondence.

Police were alerted to these communications by a man who is a corporate executive and declined to provide his identity publicly. But the pictures he had of Markoff were also found on the hard drive of Markoff's home computer, which corroborated the man's story.

It is unclear at this point whether Markoff was targeting this man and others like him as potential robbery victims, or if he was genuinely interested in sexual relationships with men - or both. Police and investigators are continuing to dig into the background and the mental make-up of a young man who seemed to have life by the tail. Markoff was a 23-year-old medical student at Boston University and was engaged to be married during the summer.

He is now being charged with multiple counts of robbery and first degree murder in the shooting death of one of his robbery victims. And all of that may only be the beginning of what was going on in the disturbed world of what seemed to be such a "normal" young man.
