Cover Letters for Teachers

What is the importance of cover letters? They simply provide the prospective employer with a brief review of your skills and abilities in the form of a letter. These types of letters are written much differently than resumes and can have a compelling impact on your future employer. Writing a cover letter isn't a difficult task. An excellent teacher is always going to be in demand.

In a number of cases, your cover letter for a job in a school will receive more attention than would cover letters in most other industries. Administrators view your cover letter as an indication of your enthusiasm for teaching and of your ability to communicate. Let your cover letter show the school administrators how incredible you are.

The cover letter has one goal. That is to get the employer excited about your resume. It is simply a marketing tool. Make good use of the accomplishments with anecdotes that will win over the school administrator much faster than simply stating what you did.

Before you actually begin writing the cover letter, first of all review what all you know about the particular school and the position for which you are applying, read the position description closely to find out what degree is needed. Also review your own skills, qualifications in respect to what the position requires. What is the exact format of the cover letter? It should look professional in appearance, with absolutely no errors, and on good bond paper. Always be sure to rewrite, edit and get feedback from others before having your final letter printed.

A well-put-together cover letter will have three basic parts to it:

1. Introduction
In this point you introduce yourself to the reader and mention the reason of your writing this cover letter. Here you should include the title of the post you are applying for.

2. Main body of the letter
This part could be seen as the advertisement of your resume. Here you need to address the needs of the school and basically sell yourself. You can also mention your basic qualifications and experiences.

3. Closing
This section simply brings the letter together and summarizes it in a thoughtful way. You could also mention your interest in further contact or meeting.

These three parts should be perfect in order to gauge reader's continuous interest. Make sure you go through this article once before writing a cover letter for the job of a teacher.
