Court Issues Warrant for Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan, who undoubtedly thought her legal problems were behind her, had a warrant for her arrest issued last Friday.
An arrest warrant was issued late on Friday afternoon last week for actress Lindsay Lohan, presumably in connection with a 2007 DUI arrest that occurred after ramming her car into a tree. A judge at Los Angeles Superior Court issued the warrant on Friday and, according to LAPD Sergeant Mike Foxen, it includes bail in the amount of $50,000. Said Foxen, "We believe it has to do with her arrest for DUI."

Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, noted on Saturday that Lohan has obeyed the terms of her probation and went on to say, "The warrant issued on Friday was, in our view, born out of a misunderstanding which I am confident I can clear up next week." A court hearing is scheduled for today, though Holley has noted that Lohan will not appear in court. Word for Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, per spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons, is that it "apparently has something to do with Ms. Lohan’s probation. We don’t know exactly what it’s about. The court contact the defense directly, not us."

Lohan’s original arrest occurred after she crashed her Mercedes Benz in Beverly Hills after drinking and driving. Lohan was also arrested in July, 2007 after chasing the mother of her formal personal assistant in an SUV. In August of the same year, Lohan pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine. Lohan’s sentence included 84 minutes of jail time, community service and drug-rehabilitation treatment. At that time, Lohan noted, "It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs."
