"Mmm..no," I complained and shut my eyes again.
"Come on huh," Gage coaxed as he pulled me on top of his chest. "Its noon, time to get up." He sighed. I felt his hand stroke my hair and i peeked through one eye. He laughed when he saw me so I smiled and stretched. "Good morning." he chuckled.
"Morning," I whispered. "YOU slept until NOON?" i said shocked.
He chuckled, "Nope, but your very pretty when you sleep," he smiled. I could feel my cheeks heat up as a blush spread across them. "I love when you do that," he murmured
"Do what?"
"Blush," all that happened was I blushed harder.
"Oh your nuts." I chuckled.
"Why were you up so late huh?" he asked stroking my cheek.
"I was making out with you,"
"No, not that part," he chuckled. "How come you came up to bed so late."
"Oh, I went swimming!...Well..I was more PUSHED into swimming,"
"Mary?"
"Mmhm." i shrugged.
"But I heard her come up an hour before you did."
"Well..Ace sorta cornered me there-" before I could finish Gage flew outta bed and was stomping down the hall towards Ace's room. I gasped and scrambled out of bed and down the hall after him.
"Gage! He didn't do anything to me, he just stared at me!" I whispered not to wake any other late sleepers.
"I don't care!" He hissed and raised his fist to pound on sleeping Ace's door. I grabbed his balled up hand before it made contact with the wood separating us from Ace and pulled Gage away from the door with all my might. He stumbled backwards and turned to glare at me. "I'm not going to hurt him!" He insisted. But I could tell in his outraged eyes he had other plans.
"Uh huh, sure," I said unconvinced. He sighed, frustrated. "Gage, he didn't do anything I promise."
"Tell me exactly what happened," he said his eyes closed, his teeth clenched.
"I was swimming and I didn't see him watching me till I swam closer to the end of the pool he was sitting at. But when I did see him, I darted in the cave and hid in the hole Mary and I dug. I heard him swim around and when it was silent and I thought he had gone I jumped into the water but then he grabbed me and housted me on the rocks." I felt Gage's hand clench and his muscles become rigid. "Then he just stared at me till I pulled away and came up to you."
Gage just stood there breathing hard. His cheeks were flushed with pure anger. He ripped his hand from mine and tore into Ace's room. What I saw made me gasp. Matilda's naked body was draped over Ace's bare chest. Their hair was frizzy and wild and Ace had lipstick marks leading from his lips...down his body. I put my hand to my mouth in shock. Gage's eyes bulged and before Ace or Matilda opened their eyes Gage shut the door. We turned the corner and ran down the hall. We could hear Ace opening his door to investigate. We flew into Gage's room just as Ace looked around the corner. I don't know if he saw us....
**Later**
I was riding my motorcycle around the beach and "woohoo"ing when I hit big bumps and flew into the air. I yelped in surprise when I came around a turn to see Matilda sucking Ace's face off as they laid on a bench. Ace's head shot out from under Matilda's at the sound of my speeding motor. His eyes widened when he noticed I saw them. I flipped them the bird and speed on past them. I heard Matilda scoff and I couldn't help my self from giggling as I did a wheely, spun, and drove right past them, turning just right so dirt and mud flung all over them.
Matilda screamed in anger and I rode off laughing like a loon.
Its fun to be me.
***An hour later***
I was sitting in the kitchen drinking some orange juice when a very dirty Matilda and Ace walked through the door. "What, THE HELL!" Ace screamed when he saw me. When he walked dirt clods fell out of his hair. I spit out my orange juice and started laughing. Mary walked in and as soon as she saw the orange juice splattered wall and the dirt covered asses in front of me she to started laughing. We held on to each other for support as our stomachs ached from laughing.
"Look at them!" She cried in between fits of laughter.
"Mary, you were outside, did you see Lina on her motorcycle spray dirt and mud on us?" Ace complained to Mary.
"I saw A motorcycle.." Mary said.
"But it was LINA!" Matilda whined.
"Was the motorcycle a Harley Davidson?" Mary questioned
"Yes," Ace replied
"Was the rider in all black leather,"
"Yes!" Ace was getting more excited to get me in trouble.
"Was the rider feminine like, had a black helmet with Sesame Street stickers on it?"
"YES!!" Ace was practically jumping with joy.
"Nope, never saw one." Mary shrugged.
I high fived Mary under the table and watched as Matilda stomped her foot to the ground in anger, and the heel broke off the shoe. This was it. Mary and I were HYSTERICAL. We couldn't stop laughing. Tears ran down our faces as we watched Matilda morn for her Jimmy Choos.
Ace just gave me one, heart ripping glare, then ran upstairs to get in the shower. Guilt filled my body but then quickly left as I saw Matilda literally start to cry for her ruined shoes.
I walked past her and murmured "materialistic bitch," I heard her gasp and if looks could kill....RIP Lina.
***Ace's POV***
Perfect. My plan totally worked. I knew what path Lina took for her morning ride and I made sure Matilda and I where on it and kissing. What I didn't expect was the mud and dirt that now covered my hair. I stepped out of the shower and put clean clothes on. Through the window I saw Lina run into Gage's arms. Jealousy covered my mind and I could feel my heart hurt. I know what I did to Lina hurt her but seeing her with Gage hurt even more. I missed her. I didn't know her for long but she was one of those people who makes an imprint on your mind, and in my case..my heart. I have to get her alone...I need to talk to her. I was addicted to Lina...
***Later***Ace's POV**
I saw Lina walk down to the beach from my window. Quickly I ran down the hall to the stairs but...I wasn't alone on this floor. I looked to my left to see Matilda's leg hitched on Gage's hip, her mouth plastered to his...oh boy...poor Lina.
****Lina's POV***
I sat by myself on the sand listening to the crashing of the waves. "Hey," someone whispered. I jumped and turned to see Ace.
"Hi," I replied and turned back towards the ocean. Ace came and sat by me. I tucked my knees to my chest and laid my chin on top of them. We sat in a comfortable silence for a while. "Matilda will be mad if she finds you here with me."
"Do you want me to go?" he whispered.
"No," I answered before I thought about it. I glanced over and saw him smiling. "I mean..I don't want to kick you off the beach or anything." I said trying to stand up for myself.
"uh huh ok," He whispered looking in my eyes. He bit down on his bottom lip and cocked his head to the side as he looked at me. "How long have you and Gage liked each other?'
At the mention of Gage's name I blushed and got butterflies in my stomach "Since we were young. We were best friends but he moved right before you came to live in out town." Ace nodded and just kept looking at me.
"Did I ever tell you, you have gorgeous eyes?" he whispered. I looked down to break his heart melting gaze and blushed even a brighter red.
"Thank you," I murmured. He got on his knees right next to me and lifted my chin with his hand. His eyes shined sadly. "What's wrong?' I asked.
He was silent as he stroked my cheek with the back of his hand.
"I miss you," he whispered. A tear sliding down his cheek. His answer made the breath catch in my throat. Before I could stop him he leaned in and softly planted a kiss on my lips.
"No!" I said pushing away from him and standing up. I grabbed my shoes and got ready to leave.
"Wait Lina!" Ace said standing up and putting his hands on my shoulder making me stand still and close enough I could smell his peppermint breath. "You know we are meant to be together, you know it!" he insisted. Tears fell down my cheeks and I shook my head 'no.' His fingers wrapped around the hair at the nape of my neck to stop me from shaking my head. "You think you and Gage are ment to be?!" He shouted. I nodded and sniffled."He doesn't even love you. In fact! I saw him kissing Matilda before I came down here!"
My heart stopped. "What?" I whispered.
"He's. Kissing. Matilda." Before I could complain Ace hoisted me over one of his shoulders and walked me up to the house. He put his hand over my mouth to block any sound that would come from me as he walked me upstairs. He put me down and motioned for me to look around the corner into the hall on the left. I peeked around and sure enough, Gage was pressed against the wall, Matilda's leg wrapped around him.
The tears came. I loved him. They poured down my face. I collapsed backwards and Ace caught me. He picked me up and brought me to his room. He set me on his bed and he cradled my head to his chest. I sobbed against him uncontrollably. "Mary!" he shouted. Within second Mary was in the doorway. Her spunkiness in her eyes left when she saw me, tear stained and a mess.
"Lina! Hun what wrong?" she asked getting on the bed and pulling me from Ace's grasp. She hugged me against her and I sobbed the whole story to her. I saw her eyes narrow with anger towards Gage. "I'm so sorry hun." I felt Ace rub my back softly and I knew the friendship between Ace and I had been mended. They sat there with me for a long time. Both of them hugging me.
"I don't get it. Why would he do that? And with Matilda?!" I sobbed into Ace's shoulder.
"Shhh I know dear. It's hard. But you've got me and Mary." Ace cooed softly. I nodded slowly and curled up against him. "Mary why don't you put on a movie, we can make popcorn, get some junk food. Cheer Lina up?' Mary nodded and headed downstairs.
"Lina I'm sorry i told you how I did. I should have done it a little more gently." Ace whispered.
"No, I'm glad you did it." I whispered. My eyes still wet with tears.
"And I never did apologize about what I said to "motorcycle girl," about you..." he whispered.
"I forgave you a long time ago," I whispered. I could tell he was smiling even though I wasn't looking at him.
"Thank you," he whispered. I nodded and hugged him tighter.
***Ace's POV***
It felt so good to have her back in my arms. I couldn't believe what Gage had done to her. I had to hide my furry around Lina. I didn't want to make it worse. We watched movies but I noticed, no matter how funny the movie, Lina's eyes didn't have the same glint, shine, twinkle. It's all because of Gage. When Lina was asleep I softly put her under the sheets of my bed. I stomped down the hall to Gage's room. I twisted the door knob but it was locked. I heard Gage's voice shushing someone. I went into Lina's room and grabbed a bobby pin. I pulled off the waxy balls at the end of the pin and stuck it into Gage's lock. I heard the mechanism click and I tore open his door. Laying in a guilty looking Gage's arms was a naked Matilda.
"You SLUT!" I shouted at her. I paid her to get Lina jealous! Not sleep with the enemy! "And don't even get me started with YOU!" I spat at Gage. He winced and then took his arm out from under Matilda.
"Does Lina know?" Gage said putting on his boxers under the covers and standing up in alarm.
"KNOW?" I shouted. "She SAW you." Gage looked horrified. "I saw you first then brought her." I smirked.
"Why!?" Gage shouted at me.
"I care about her!"
"So do I!"
"You care about her so much that you banged Matilda!?"
'It's not like that!" Gage said grabbing my throat.
"Stop it!!" a voice shouted in the doorway. We turned to see Lina standing there in her plaid pajama pants and a white tank top. Her straight brown hair was over her shoulders. She didn't even look at Gage or Matilda. She walked in and grabbed my hand and lead me out of the room back towards my room. I looked over my shoulder to see Gage standing in the hall. I winked at him and turned. Before turning the corner Lina flipped him the bird.
When we got in my room I opened my arms up. She ran into them and hugged me tightly. "Thank you," she whispered. I kissed the top of her head.
"No problem."
I was determined to protect Lina for the rest of the trip, no matter what it took. I wasn't going to let ANYONE else hurt her. If they did. They had to deal with me, and right now, Gage is the one bringing Lina pain...
