"Hey," a voice whispered behind Lucion and I. We turned to see freaking Matilda, standing there looking at Lucion hungrily.
"Um..ello." Lucion replied creeping out a little. He turned his back and grabbed my arm pulling me with him fast.
"Wait up!" Matilda called.
"Um..Id rather not." He called back and I started laughing. Matilda was still following us through the crowd. "Ugh your slowing me down!" He growled to me playfully, then grabbed me and set me on his back in piggy back formation. I laughed and wrapped my arms loosely around his neck as he made a mad dash away from Matilda. Finally we got to the bird-cage. A place no one ever came to in the zoo since the new koala bears were born. I text Mary and she said she'd meet us at the front in a while. We went into the giant cage where birds flew around the room. I chuckled and went over to where a nest of baby birds was sitting in a tree. When I walked over the birds started cheeping loudly, thinking I was their mom and had brought them food. I smiled and watched them as slowly they calmed down.
***Lucions POV***
She was beautiful. That's the first thing I noticed at the club. Her hair long and shiny. But it was her eyes that had drawn me to her. They were sad, dull, lost. She looked like she needed someone to lean on. I was drawn to her....I couldn't help it. And now as she pranced around the bird-cage looking with wide eyes at the colorful birds, I couldn't help but start to have feeling for her. She looked so innocent, but so mature at the same time. I walked in front of her so I could see her face and wrapped my arms around her waist, picked her up, and started spinning her. She squealed with surprise and delight as her arms wrapped around my neck. I sat her down and smiled at her. She blushed and looked down.
'You want to kiss her' a voice stated in my mind. 'Go ahead and kiss her.' it said again. Finally I gave in. I tipped her chin up and lightly planted a kiss on her lips. I didn't want it to get extreme since she had just gone through something bad with Gage. Her lips were still, then slowly they started kissing me back. It started to rain but we didn't care. It started to pour...we still didn't care. We couldn't feel it. All that mattered was us in those precious moments we shared. Our clothes became soaked and clung to our feverish skins. Her arms came tighter around my neck and I lifted her up and spun her around happily in the rain without breaking the kiss. Lightning bolts struck my heart's cords and I could hear an angel chorus singing in my head. The rain just added to the intimate moment, fueling it with romance. She pulled back smiling and I stroked her rain covered face. She got on her tiptoes to kiss me once more, her soft coral pink lips felt so gentle on mine.
We stood in the rain for a long time. Feeling the rain on our skin. Holding on to each other, not breaking the moment we were sharing. I saw her shiver and slowly I lead her out of the bird-cage. We met Mary by the entrance and we drove back home.
****Lina's POV***
We walked inside and Gage was sitting on the couch, a beer bottle in hand watching looney toons. "Where you guys been..?" He asked, his words slurred. I walked over to him and was immediately hit with the over powering scent of alcohol.
"Oh Gage..your wasted..." I murmured. His eyes had bags under them as he stared at me sadly. I sighed and grabbed him. Putting one of his arms around my neck as I lead him upstairs. I was going to stick him in the shower and get him to bed. He was gonna have a killer hangover tomorrow. "I'll be back soon guys." I whispered to them. They nodded and I started up the stairs. Gage would stumble and slip every so often and blame it on the wiggling floor. I sat him on his bed and started pulling off his shirt to get him in the shower.
"Your pretty..." he murmured looking at me. His finger came up and poked my cheek.
"Stop it." I hissed pushing his finger out of my face. "How could you Gage, you know what drinking does to you." I scolded.
"Take me back." he whispered as if he was in pain. His eyes were dark and they were sad, beseeching as well. "Please," his voice came out strained. I sighed sadly and pulled off the rest of his clothes except his boxers.
"Go get in the shower Gage." I whispered. He sat there a moment longer searching my eyes. He got angry when he realized I was saying 'let's not talk right now,' he got angry and slammed his fist on his night stand.
"God damn it Lina answer me!" He screamed.
"Gage. I did answer. Go get in the shower, your drunk." I spat. He huffed and stumbled into the bathroom. I sat on the edge of his bed as I heard the shower start. I put my head in my hands and screamed. I was angry. Gage knew he had alcoholism that runs through his family and he had promised me he would never drink insane amounts. But then that anger slowly molded to fear, and sadness. I had done this to him...maybe I hurt him more than he hurt me.. My sobs racked my body and they started to hurt my chest. Two damp arms wound around me and pulled me to a wet body.
"Gage, let go," I whispered.
"No, you're hurting and I'm here for you," and to prove his words, his arms tightened on me. He buried his face in my hair and I felt his warm tears drop onto my shoulder.
"Gage, Gage why are you crying?" I twisted to look at him. All he did was stare back, the tears shimmering in his pain-filled eyes. I stroked under his eye to clear the falling tears with my thumb as I sniffled, trying to control my own tears. "Everything is gonna be ok." I whispered. He nodded and rested his forehead against mine. 'Lina, don't fall for him again,' a voice hissed in my head. 'It'll just hurt you more in the long run,' it said. I cleared my throat, stood up, and just walked out of the room ignoring Gage's questions. I went straight to my room, took a bath, got in my pjs, and fell into a deep sleep curled way under the blankets.
