When you go to a lot of building sites you will see large storage containers placed around the work area to provide safe storage for the site material (tools, cement mixers, oak beams and anything of benefit pinching) and provide the workmen with an area to go for food breaks or when the heavens open. A lot of these containers arrive on the back of some large MAC lorry are either lifted off by crane or the MAC lorry has its own raising gear.

The large MAC containers are so versatile as they are not just secure containers they can provide a large variety of fittings including, on-site accommodation, secure storage, secure workshops, extra classrooms, COSHH storage facilities, smoking shelters and mobile homes.

When you go looking for them you can find these containers for sale through reputable firms they give you a great deal of give when you are considering new developments or in this case self builds. My plan is to buy a MAC container that has been made exactly for my needs shower and toilet, kitchen, bedroom and storage area with heating, lighting, power supply, external lighting and steel shuttered security windows.

This will let me have on site accommodation when I begin my new build, that can be craned in for the duration of the construction and that I can then sell when it finishes. What I most like about container buildings is that they work, that is why they are used so often.

Bold statement but if you have ever worked in the building trade you will understand that if something doesn’t work it wont get used. Each building site normally has one or more MAC container on it because of their dependability, safety and simplicity of use.
