The world is full of duality. There is day for night and abnormalities for what we presume is 'normal'. However, we grow in the midst of these dualities and not by mocking, but holding hands and covering ground together. We are the world...
I too was born into a free world,
I am also just like you in form;
I replicate similar breath unfurled,
I can also follow rule and norm.

Please integrate me within your fold,
I know not in what I seriously lack,
I feel whole and complete and bold,
And frightened when you turn back

I need your clasp, for all I am imbecile,
They all tease and say I am abnormal.
Ma often utters 'retard' to reconcile,
And establish my actions as informal.

I know you avoid me as much as you can,
But, I crave the warmth of your touch,
Please don't laugh as you my gait scan,
I need you, you are my emotional crutch.

I too can think, may be lesser than you.
I too can add quality to your day.
I too can sketch life in color and hue.
Please hold my hand as I make my way.

You are whole to complete my lack,
You can help me challenge my numb;
You are normal that I may use knack,
To overcome instead of to succumb.

I cannot threaten your 'normal' world,
You don't even want to be part of mine;
I cannot straighten what you've curled,
But with your help, I too can shine.

If only you would shed sympathy,
If only you would shed disgust,
If only you would show empathy,
To my plight and blow off the dust.
