Computer Display Settings
Once you have figured out how to adjust your computer display settings, you can add a personalized touch to the way your computer monitor looks. There are 5 main tabs that help you to reset computer display settings.
The most beneficial thing about being able to reset computer display settings is that you can add a personal touch to your PC. The way the computer physically looks to you can be determined by the settings and adjustments you have made on your desktop computer, laptop computer or notebook computer.
How to Change Display Settings
Before you begin the process of actually adjusting the computer display settings you must know how to access the display settings dialog box. To do this, you need to hover your mouse cursor on an empty space on your desktop, and press the right click button. From the resulting box that pops open, you need to select the 'properties' option. The dialog box that opens after doing so, is the computer display settings dialog box.
Options Available in the Computer Display Settings Dialog Box
You will find that the dialog box thus opened contains 5 general tabs on the top. These tabs will help you adjust your computer display settings and solve computer display problems. The following are the tabs available and the functions that they perform.
- Themes: This option allows you to choose one out of an existing collection of background colors for your windows and applications, sounds when you click on certain buttons, the way the icons look on your screen and many other elements. There are a few preset themes available with every operating system, and you can even download new themes online in order to further personalize the way your windows and applications look. Once you choose a theme from the options available to you, you must click on the 'OK' button.
- Desktop: This option allows you to decide the background picture that you can see on your desktop. You can either choose one of the many preset pictures as your desktop background, or you can even add your own pictures or download some pictures online. The browse button allows you to find the picture you are looking for, on your hard drive, and then select it. You can also choose the position of the picture on the desktop screen. The 3 options available to you are stretch, center and tile.
- Screensaver: This tab allows you to decide what screensaver will play on your screen, if the screen is left idle for a stipulated amount of time. The time that must pass before the screensaver becomes active can also be decided by you on this tab. There is also an option available for you to preview the screensaver before you actually decide on one.
- Appearance: This option helps you choose the appearance of your various colors and fonts. Through this tab you can determine what colors will appear and how your windows will look. The 3 options that are further available in this tab are windows and buttons, color schemes and font size.
- Settings: This tab allows you to adjust other computer display settings like computer display resolution (which is the same as the computer display size), color settings and other technical troubleshooting tips. Some advanced settings will require you to restart your computer, and it is imperative that you do so immediately in order for the changes to take place.
