Golden Globe Winners 2014 for drama and musical or comedy
Known worldwide for its glittering Golden Globe Awards ceremony held every January, and its multimillion dollar donations to charity, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association had humble origins that stemmed solely from a group of journalists' desire to efficiently and accurately cover all aspects of the world of entertainment.
The 71st Golden Globe Awards, honoring those excelling in film and television, were held on 12 January 2014 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California. Hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the red carpet event witnessed fun surprises and happy tears. The night saw American Hustle, Behind the Candelabra, Breaking Bad, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Dallas Buyers Club win multiple awards.

Coming as a big surprise to the director Steve McQueen, the harrowing portrayal of slavery in America took home the prize for the best drama of 2013. David O. Russell's American Hustle ended up taking home three trophies including the award for Best Motion Picture under Musical or Comedy category, as well as the award for the best actress for both, lead and supporting roles. The best comedy series―Brooklyn Nine-Nine―beat its competitors The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family, and took home the award for the Best Actor as well.
