Common Causes of Dark under Eye Circles

Dark under eye circles is the leading cause of the skin looking prematurely aged. The skin under the eyes can become overly pigmented and appear darker than the rest of the skin on the face when dark under eye circles occur and therefore they should be avoided to ensure that the skin remains youthful and healthy appearing.
Learning the causes of dark under eye circles can be an effective way to remedy the dark circles and avoid them in the future and retain youthful appearing skin.

Here are some of the common causes of dark under eye circles:-

A lack of vitamins and nutrients within the diet can lead to under eye circles forming on the lower lid of the eye. Vitamins and nutrients ingested through the diet and absorbed into the body can benefit the skin and when an individual ingests a diet which is lacking in vitamins and nutrients the skin will suffer. Skin can suffer from dryness and therefore become depleted of moisture. Once the skin has been depleted of moisture, damage can easily occur, causing the discoloration which can lead to dark under eye circles.

Excess sun exposure leading to damage of the eye area is another cause of dark circles which can form under the eye area. Sun damage comes from excess exposure in which the delicate skin around the eye is not protected with the use of sunscreen as well as eye cream. There are many types of eye creams which include sunscreen in the formulations to help reduce dark under eye circles which are caused by the sun. How does the sun cause damage to the eye area? Sun exposure reaches the eyes and causes UV rays to absorb into the skin, causing the burning and damage associated with under eye circles. As well as the damage, the sun can cause dryness to occur under the eyes, which can lead to skin losing moisture and becoming deteriorated.

Bruising is another leading cause of dark circles that can form under the eyes. Bruising can occur under the eye area from the thin skin in which veins are located close to the surface, and therefore more susceptible to damage from rubbing and other irritations. Rubbing the skin a small amount can cause these veins, which are technically referred to as capillaries to break and cause the appearance of dark under eye circles which can resemble bruising.

Fatigue and lack of sleep can cause reduced moisture within the skin but can also increase swelling. This formula can lead to dark circles being caused under the eyes and therefore can cause the skin to appear instantly aged after even as little as one night without adequate amount of sleep or without adequate consumption of water which can help to reduce the swelling that occurs within the skin leading to dark under eye circles.
