Commitment Phobic Deal

Sometimes commitment can be too much to share.
Why don't you show me some emotion?
Why don't you climb down from your ego
And give a little devotion?
It seems I'm only here
Because you want me there,
I'm just your fanciful notion.

You gave me life through an impulse,
An urgent need to fill your bed,
And I fell for you as a result,
I thought that I'd found love,
But you only wound me up,
I lost the game by default.

My failure to meet my obligation,
The ties that bind were hanging loose,
Your failure to duty, demanded action,
And so I called your bluff,
And so you did your sums,
You, me, minus one, equals subtraction.

So it seems I'm just a part-time lover,
A helping hand when you're feeling lonely,
An unlimited source of moral comfort,
To be used and abused,
Never to be an issue
Of value towards one another.

And so I wake up from where I sleep,
Still holding your picture in my hand,
And I wonder if today you'll call me,
To give you comfort again,
If I'll run like the fool I am,
Just to be there at your feet.

You play your mind games very well,
I am disillusioned by your charms,
I know you'll never love me for real,
I'll always be the novelty,
That play for today,
Stuck within your commitment phobic deal.
