Coming up Vishwa Shanti Stupa in Delhi

Buddhism originated in India and stupas were the exemplary edifices of which represented the religion. The making of Sanchi stupas in Delhi brings new hope to the people who follow the religion.
Buddhist from all the world will be very delighted to know that the construction of Vishwa Shanti Stupa has already begun. This time 'The Vishwa Shanti Stupa' will be built up in the City of Delhi in India. Indraprastha Park, near the Delhi Metro Station is the location chosen by the Shanti Stupa Society for its construction. It will be an immense white structure that will be visible from the miles around. It will have four Gold statues, one on each side, reflecting the Buddha's birth, enlightenment, teachings and death.

The Vishwa Shanti Stupa or the peace of pillar is the newest additions in the architectural city of Delhi. Vishwa Shanti Stupa (World Peace Pagoda) has become the universal symbol for peace and prosperity. It will be one of the Vishwa Shanti Stupas built by Buddhist from Japan in different cities of the world in the memory of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This is obviously built in collaboration with the Japanese Government. There are more than 80 Shanti Stupas around the world.

The awesome Shanti Stupa is the main focus of attraction for the Buddhist. The purpose behind its construction is to promote Ahimsa or non -violence for the world peace. Nipponzan Myohoji was founded by Most Venerable Nichidatsu Fujii (1885-1985) with the mission of building Shanti Stupas all over the world as a way of creating peace and transforming people’s mind and heart. Another Shanti Stupa is located in Vaishali in Bihar.

In 1935, Fuji Guruji from Japan came to Wardha and met Mahatma Gandhi. He put the wish to setup the Stups (Prayer place for of Budha Community) in India. Gandhi agreed his desire and then after Stanti Stups were built at eight different places in India. One of that Vishwa Shanti Stup is found in Wardha. This Stup is constructed with the help of Japan in 1995. On the Stup the architecture is available describing the history of Lord Goutam Budha.
