Coming Home
Poetry cycle – My Teenage Years Poetry I wrote in high school. Sometimes when we think loves over it’s not…
You left so long ago
I still remember that day
You said you didn’t care for me
And now you’re coming home
I thought last night of who
You’ll come to see.
I thought of gladder times
Of you kissing me
And now you’re coming home
Night came and the moon
And stars shone bright
I saw you walking through the night
Then I realized, you had come home to me
Now my grateful tears fall
Upon your hair.
And your love for me
Washes all my sorrows away
I still remember that day
You said you didn’t care for me
And now you’re coming home
I thought last night of who
You’ll come to see.
I thought of gladder times
Of you kissing me
And now you’re coming home
Night came and the moon
And stars shone bright
I saw you walking through the night
Then I realized, you had come home to me
Now my grateful tears fall
Upon your hair.
And your love for me
Washes all my sorrows away
