Coming Back To Life

It took them a moment to come back to life
Coming Back To Life
The last meeting had ended on an unpleasant note. The promises they had made to each other had broken into fragments of hate. There was nothing more left to lose. He had to leave and she was not ready for the change. Just as much as they wanted to grow up together, they knew they had to move apart. Nothing around them sanctioned their relationship.

From friends to lovers, like roaring flames they had burning desires for one another. They lived on the same planes of thought and intellect. Worked with equal zeal and speed and merged with one another like a relentless river break through every rock to merge with ocean. They had one soul, but distinct identities. One life but many ambitions.

The ambitious greed and fear turned them from flames to ashes. They went their separate ways and the quest of fortune and success led them on. Overcoming many obstacles both of them carved a niche in the maddening world as individuals. Dreams became reality and passions took a backseat.

...She was sitting at her home completing her office work, when she heard the door bell ring. It was him. After four years, he was standing there liked nothing between them had changed. She ran to him to embrace the long lost love and suddenly everything felt complete. Silence spoke for them beyond words could. They sat wrapped around each other and clarity knew the right way in.

She got up with a startle to a phone ring at 3 am promising him she'd come back. She picked up the receiver and recognized his sister's voice. It was disturbed but steady. Without a trace of waver she broke the news of her brother's death while he was on his way to propose his love.

She hung up with a smile and returned to his warm embrace, knowing there was nothing more to loose; knowing that she was coming back to life.
