How to get rid of them is a big question that looms greedily in front of our eyes. Well, every problem has a solution and there is a solution to this problem as well.

Know thy Comedones!
This section of the article focuses on explaining what comedones are. Comedones are primarily defined as a type of acne. In layman's language, the comedone is regarded as whiteheads or blackheads. A comedone or a comedo is a small aberration that forms bump-like structures on the skin surface, having its roots in the epidermal layer. Blackheads could be defined as small, black spots on the surface of the skin. When this oil comes in contact with the surrounding air, the color changes into an oxidized black shade. The whitehead is formed when the sebaceous glands secrete excess of sebum.

The whiteheads and blackheads are caused when the hair follicles are blocked by excess sebum secretion leading to clogged pores. These follicles have an inherent tendency to widen by filling in small amounts of bacteria and dead skin cells. The rate at which sebum is secreted ids the highest during teen years. It is during these years that the skin becomes increasingly susceptible to blackheads and whitehead formations, especially on the facial skin.

What is a Comedone Extractor?
A comedone extractor could be referred to, as a vital tool to extract blackheads, whiteheads and pimples. Some people have a constant urge to pick on and burst pimples by using their fingers leading to blemishes. Squeezing pimples or blackheads could worsen the situation and lead to permanent scars. While on the other hand there are some people who are afraid to remove blackheads and whiteheads to avoid scarring and the pain inflicted during the removal process. With anextractor, squeezing out the pimple or blackhead is made easier and hassle free.

How to Use a Comedone Extractor
A comedone extractor has two loops. There is one loop installed at the end of the instrument. The extractor could be used by following these simple steps. You could follow these instructions and get rid of blackheads and whiteheads.
  1. Furnish your kitchen table with a container filled with water, the extractor, cotton balls, rose water and an antiseptic skin cream or lotion.
  2. Heat the water in the container, close the container with a lid or cover, so that the steam does not evaporate.
  3. Let the water boil.
  4. After the heating process is complete, place the container off the stove, on the table.
  5. Carry a towel along and place it on your head in such a manner that the container of boiling water and your head are covered with the towel.
  6. Now, lower your head and let the steam hit your face for at least 12 to 15 minutes.
  7. When you feel the perspiration on your face, rise and take off the towel covering your head.
  8. Wipe your face with a face towel.
  9. You will observe that the pores have loosened making the extraction procedure toil free.
  10. Now place the extractor loop surrounding the blackhead pore and gently press it. The blackhead will sprout out. Place the extractor around the pore to remove every blackhead or whitehead on the face.
  11. You could place the sprouted blackheads on one cotton ball. After you are done with the extraction process, take another cotton ball, soak it in a bowl of rose water and wipe your face.
  12. You could also resort to sliding ice cubes through the contours of your face or splash some cold water. This will help in closing the pores of your skin.
  13. Dab your face. There might be some traces of redness, which would disappear after a while. To complete this mini-facial, you could apply a face pack consisting of fullers earth (multani mitti) mixed with a pinch of sandalwood powder and a few drops of rose water to form a paste.
  14. Leave it on till dry.
  15. Wash off and see your skin pores breathe!
