Comcast Cable Internet: What's this "Speed Boost" Thing All About?

If you've been thinking about getting Comcast Cable Internet, you've probably heard all these claims about their "Speed Boost" technology and how fast it is. But is it true?
While some folks think having a satellite dish sprouting from their roof is the neatest thing since sliced bread, not everyone agrees. I finally subscribed to Comcast Cable Internet and couldn’t be more pleased. And I didn’t have to have a southern exposure or a dish on my roof to get great Internet service. Nor do I have to settle any longer for a slow-to-load dial-up connection.

But what I really wanted to do is take some time to share my story about how I researched Comcast Cable Internet, and what I found out about the features and benefits it offers. If you’re currently using dial-up to access the Internet, you’ll be amazed at how much faster your Internet activities will become. You may kick yourself for not upgrading your connection sooner.

Don’t be fooled like I was into thinking that all Internet service providers are the same. Nothing could be further from the truth. Without proper research, you can get royally ripped off. Fortunately for you, I’ve already done the research for you. I spent several hours visiting innumerable websites and one of the most helpful sites I found was this one. They told me just how easy it would be to get Comcast Cable Internet in my home, and they have some pretty sweet deals to boot.

I had several requirements I needed met from an Internet provider. The first, of course, was speed. I was so tired of trying to download music or videos and having them "time out." The next thing of importance to me was security. And whoever I chose had to give me the ability to somehow connect the family pc with my sons’ computers, and I have three sons. I thought maybe my demands were too unreasonable. But the really cool thing is that I was able to totally network all of our computers. That was kind of the clincher for me.

For speed, Comcast Cable Internet is not only faster than dial-up or DSL, there’s a cool feature called Powerboost that turbo-charges your download speed, especially for large files. No more waiting forever while that download bar inches along.

If you’re as concerned about computer security as I am, Comcast Cable Internet understands. There’s no need to spend extra for anti-virus protection, as a full year of McAfee security suite is included in your subscription. More than just a firewall, this is a system of spyware and phishing fraud protection and includes a pop-up blocker as well.

To address my last concern, Comcast provides a Home Networking system (as I mentioned above) that allows you to connect up to five devices, including computers and gaming consoles. Now my whole family can share files and a printer, without having to share computer time. I even hooked up my middle son’s Playstation.

My family loves it and I’m betting yours will too. Of course, in the end, the decision is up to you to do what’s best for you and your family. But before you decide on anything, you owe it to yourself to visit some of the sites mentioned here first. They’ll give you everything you need to know about Comcast Cable Internet so you can make an informed decision.
