Comatose - 1

Heyy pic is of Fate Wish Nightshade- Main Character.
Me and silence were walking the lonely streets on our way back from the village church. We lived in an isolated area, on the outskirts of a pretty village. You could say it was the countryside but it was always busy and the streets were dangerous to walk alone at daylight, let alone night. Father always said "you could confuse our little village streets with the numerous paths of London".

It was late on Sunday, and the afternoon sun was high in the sky. Signaling it was time for the women to start cooking for the men. Our fathers had only started to trust us enough to allow us to walk alone by ourselves. Silence was deaf, and I was her only true friend in the world. She didn't speak, but she understood me like no other had. We were almost like sisters. As her mother and father were old friends of the family. Me and silence grew up together, and I remember when we were bright eyes babies on our very front porch. Our fathers owned a business together. A mill to be precise. The business employees young girls and women to do work.

Although me, mother, silence, and Mrs Whisper, were all banned from the mill area.
"The business industry is no place for middle class women!" father always cried.
our large petticoats swayed behind us as we walked through the dusty alleys on a shortcut home.
I thought I knew which way we were walking, but we took so many twists and turns that my head got muddled.
Silence stopped. 'are we lost?' she had signed. And I had shaken my head. ' I know exactly where we are. Stop worrying.'
And I turned my back on her so she would see how worried I really was. I had never been in this part of town before.

It looked dirty, and polluted, and only god could know what awful things had gone on here.
In my wildest dreams I hadn't imagined that this alleyway was the place where my life would change forever.
I turned back to her. 'it's just down this road. We'll be home before you know it.'
We went down the road that my finger was pointing to. When we got to the end, it was already too late.
A man was there.
Mother had always said "you can trust a man, and always know his class, by how well he is dressed."
And this man was impeccably well dressed. I remember exactly what he was wearing that night.
He had high collar points (which were very important back then) and a white waistcoat, and shiny shoes.
He looked young, too young to be able to afford all of this by working, so I assumed he was upper class.

But what he was doing here hadn't crossed my young, naive mind at all.
He looked about twenty, and his blond curly hair curled around his neck.
It was very dark, so I didn't notice his eyes glow a deep wine red.
"Oh, thank heavens we've found someone! Sir, if you could help us, we're very lost, and We need to get home urgently. Our mothers will be worried."
I said, putting on a sweet smile. he smirked. "oh, it's urgent. Don't you realize what's happened?"
Were his words. my smile faltered, and a horrible churning feeling was starting in my stomach.
Silence understood, not by his words, but by the way I grasped her wrist and pulled her behind me protectively.
"Actually sir, I know where we are now. But thank you anyway..." and I tried to walk away.
We were almost there, in the brilliant sunshine again... but in a flash; he was there! right in front of us.

My heart skipped a beat, and my instinct was to scream, but I couldn't muster a sound.
silence flinched as well, and slipped her white gloved hand in mine. I squeezed it gently, telling her it was alright.
But inside, I knew it wasn't.
"Fate, darling... dear darling fate..." now it was my turn to flinch, "how do you know my name?" I asked.
"I know everything about you. who you were, who you are, and finally, who I will now make you."
"W.w.what do you mean?" I stammered. He was drawing closer and closer, and I was running out of room.
I banged into the wall, and my big blue eyes focused on his red eyes. That I now noticed.
He placed his bare hand on my cheek, and his eyes bored into mine.
My heart was beating faster, and I wondered what it would feel like to have his lips pressed onto mine.

He smirked, and pinched my cheek lightly. "so beautiful..." he murmured, and rested his forehead against mine.
I was too scared to breathe. then he lifted his head, and kissed my lips, for what seemed like eternity.
It felt... amazing.
His lips tasted addictive and tasted of a substance I had never before tasted, but I had a hunger for it; even then.
my heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest. it felt so right, and I instantly wanted more.
But at the same time I wanted to scream and to get him off me. "such a pity. Oh well."
And his eyes glowed even redder. My lowered his head, and bit on my neck, gently...
but the pain was like no other I had ever experienced, so I screamed.
But that seemed to encouraged him, so he sucked, harder and harder, draining away my blood.
And my screams got fainter. All I could think of was that silence had to get away.

present day
I opened my eyes and rose from my bed.
I opened my curtains and smiled at the sun rising over the roof tops.
A sight I hadn't got tired of in all my 196 years. I sighed at the smoke already rising to the heavens.
Such a waste. I have seen the world change. And not for the better.
From the year 1830, in which I was turned, to the year 2010, in which I live now.
A knock shook me out of my reverie. Using my Vampire stuff I could tell it was silence on the other side of the door.
No longer deaf, but a greater friend than ever.
Silence entered and sat down on my bed. She knew I liked to look at the sun and think for a while. As soon as I was bitten and in the 'transitioning' process, silence had bitten my darling silence too. Since that day, we were in black omens debt. He was the man who turned us. We owe him eternity. We do whatever he asks. but we don't necessarily like it. We have... creative differences.
"Fate?" She broke the silence. (irony :D)
"Yes?" I replied.

"Do we have to go to school today? We've left year eleven millions of times, and this year is nothing is special! We'll be going to sixth form for the umpteenth time, and then we'll leave that with diplomas again, and then we'll have to move again, because we won't look a day older than when we moved here." she said.
I nodded. "I know, but no matter what. we have to go today. We don't want teachers poking around here wanting to know why we weren't at school, and why we don't live with our parents, and who is the strange man who is very 'friendly' with us. Then because they trespassed they would either be turned, or be eaten." I said. She nodded and went to go get changed.
One of our pets walked in and set out my clothes. "thank you Zeige" I said, and she scuttled out.
She wasn't even my pet. God knows what she was doing in here. She was BamBam's pet.
She was one of our closest Vampire friends. We go to school together.
she has silver blonde hair, and big red eyes. Zeige was her personal pet, and is very obedient.

BamBam likes her, but is very strict. I suppose you have to be with a pet. I wouldn't know.
I don't like having them. It's inhuman. BamBam also enjoys human blood. Another difference we have.
I can't see why. It's got a weird taste.
It reminds me of what I used to be when I was human, and so I just don't do it.
So I drink animal blood. It's nice. Meaty. It depends which animal. Silence is also vegetarian.
But now, I had to get ready. My last day of year eleven. Until the next time.
