Color Washing Technique

- First, you need to paint the base coat using a high quality nylon-polyester brush and a roller to get a proper finish. You can also use a semi gloss base coat. Let the base coat dry thoroughly.
- Now, you need to make the mixture of a glaze, water, and the base coat. Paint a small patch and see if the blending is done well.
- Then you must select the tool as per the result you desire. You may apply the second coat (glaze) by using sponge, rags, brush, or leaves etc. along with chosen color schemes. While using any of the tool, make sure to apply enough pressure to leave tools the marks that show up clearly.
- For greater depth you can experiment with more strokes by using two different colored washes. Basically, the options are unlimited as you can experiment with the fluidity and strength of the color.
- Once you are satisfied with the pattern and achieve the desired look, leave the wall to dry thoroughly and your job is done.
