Colloidal silver is claimed to strengthen the immune system by killing harmful bacteria and parasites that cause diseases and disorders. It is also said to be an effective cure for skin, eye and urinary tract infections. It prevents infection resulting from burns. As a topical spray, it is known to cure burns, cuts and scars. Use of colloidal silver is prevalent in traditional medicine systems like Ayurveda.

Colloidal Silver Dosage for Children
Colloidal silver is found to be safe for children, but the amount of dosage is very small. For children belonging to the age group of 6-12 years, the prescribed dosage is about half of the normal adult dosage. While for children below 6 years of age, the dosage prescribed is about one-fourth of the normal adult dosage.
Colloidal Silver Dosage for Dogs
Colloidal silver dosage can also be given to animals, such as dogs. Generally, to give a silver colloidal dosage to dogs, a dropper may be used and directly ingested into the throat. However, you can even put very few drops of silver colloidal into the dog's food.
Colloidal silver dietary supplement is promoted as an effective cure for many ailments and diseases; however, not much has been documented and proved about its effectiveness. Silver as an element is required in very small quantities by the body and therefore, colloidal silver is considered beneficial. However, prolonged and excess consumption can lead to many side effects. In an attempt to counter these side effects, the U.S. National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine has issued a warning against its use. It has stated that the effectiveness of colloidal silver is not supported and thus, the user may suffer from some colloidal silver side effects. Therefore, though promotional advertisements might be tempting, it is advisable that you take colloidal silver dosage, only after consulting a qualified doctor who can advise you on the prescription for your body type and ailment.
