Cold Winter for Love
Megan can't get over her ex-boyfriend Devin. But she's in for a little surprise. Devin thinks there relationship is all about the past.
Megan knew she would get in trouble for this, something her mother would disapprove of. She really hadn't cared at that moment. She just wanted to see him, before he left. Before he moved on. She could feel her toes curling inside her old western boots. Her palms had begun to become moist. She wiped them on her jeans, and proceeded on. She had walked a mile to get to his house. Her feet were begging to take a break, but she ignored the pain. She only wanted to see him. After a while of hearing the crunch of the snow underneath her feet, she stopped and sighed. The cold air had sneaked past her, and danced through her hair. She shivered, and pulled her hat over her head. She couldn't afford to come down with the flu.
There she was, in front of his home. Her arm froze in place, as she saw two people huddling together. At first one of them looked like a girl from far. But as she got closer, she realized the long-haired person was a man. It was two men. They had huddled together, to keep warm. She couldn't pull her eyes from them. The other, who had platinum blonde hair had stretched his arm around the long haired guy. He was whispering something into the other guy's ear. Then blondie did something that she didn't see coming. Long haired dude, was now moaning and gasping for what seemed like air. She didn't get it, was he chocking? A faint drumming beat rose from her heart as she stood and watched in amazement. All she could see was movement coming from blondie's arm. Then she figured out what was happening, why the long hair dude had been moaning and gasping. She quickly turned her back to them and turned the corner.
She could feel her face getting hotter. She tried to erase the memory out of her mind. They both looked as though they didn't care who watched. They had looked like they were seeking something from each other. As she swam around in deep thought about the sight she had seen earlier, a young gentlemen had run into her.
"Sorry miss." The voice whispered, an arm warming up her back. She had looked up and saw the familiar birthmark and striking eyes.
"Devin, is that you?" Megan asked, getting up. She thought that it had to be him. He was they only boy in town who had a noticeable birthmark next to his eyes.
"Megan? What are you doing here? It's been a long time." He smiled, showing his pearly white teeth.
"Yeah, it's me. I just wanted to say goodbye before you had left to Florida. I heard you, everyone has been talking about it." She breathed. Her heart had begun to stamp in nervousness.
"Yeah, sorry I hadn't told you earlier. My little sister dropped in the toilet. I would have told you but, remember I'm not aloud to see you again." He had recalled. His voice sounding as firm as ever. He smiled as though I was an old time friend. When I wasn't, I was his ex-girlfriend. I mean, I am his ex-girlfriend. We had gone out for about like a year, before my mother had threatened our relationship and made me breakup with him. It was snowing that day, just like it is now.
"What matters is, that I just wanted to say goodbye, and I'm' going to miss you." She hugged him.
"Yeah you're right. I'm going to miss you t-"
She lunged at him, kissing him. She always licked her lips before she made a move. That always made Devin giggle, while they kissed. But as she kissed him today, at the very moment he stood there froze. She tried to stick her tongue in his mouth but he pulled away from her.
"Whoa, Megan what are you doing? You know I have a girlfriend right?" His eyes trembled with guilt.
"I just thought that, I would say goodbye, that's all."
