A hot coffee may not sound as tempting as a cold coffee, during a hot, sunny afternoon. Rather than going out to have a cup of this beverage, you can prepare it at home. It is very easy to prepare it, if you know the right methods.

What is Cold Coffee

We all know that there are many different variants of coffee. Both cold and hot coffee variations are equally popular. A cold coffee can be defined as the cold variant of the beverage called coffee. However, the cold version of coffee is often called iced coffee as well as cold coffee. While both are said to be different, both names are used alternatively. Initially, iced coffee denoted hot-brewed coffee, that was served cold. But, with time, cold-brewing of coffee was introduced and now, most of the popular coffee versions come in cold form too. Likewise, cold coffee used to refer to the cold versions of coffee made with milk. This drink is very popular in many countries like India and Australia. Gradually, many other ingredients were added to enhance its flavor and texture. They included ice cream, cream, syrups, vanilla extract and cocoa powder.

Recipe 1

In order to make three glasses of cold coffee with ice cream, you need three cups milk, two tablespoons hot water, two tablespoons sugar, four tablespoons instant coffee, vanilla ice cream and ice cubes. All you have to do is to dissolve the sugar and coffee in hot water. The next step is to add the milk and ice cubes to the hot water mix. You can also mix the ingredients in a blender. Pour the mixture into glasses and serve with ice cream topping. You may also sprinkle some instant coffee powder or grated chocolate as topping. Some people like to blend the ice cream along with the milk, rather than using it as a topping.

Recipe 2

This easy recipe requires four cups of milk, ¼ cup heavy whipping cream, one teaspoon vanilla extract, two tablespoons instant coffee powder, three tablespoons sugar and ice cubes. In order to make cold coffee, blend all the ingredients in a blender and add ice cubes before serving. Another easy way is to combine full cream milk, sugar and instant coffee powder and blend for a few minutes. You may also use filter coffee to prepare cold coffee. In such case, add one tablespoon of filter coffee to two teaspoons of hot water and one teaspoon sugar and mix them well. Add 100 ml chilled milk and blend well. Serve with ice cubes. In case of iced coffee, hot-brewed coffee is allowed to get cool and is served with or without chilled milk and sugar. Even freshly brewed coffee is blended with milk and sugar and refrigerated to prepare iced coffee. So, both iced coffee and cold coffee are said to be different.
