How to Make a Coconut Smoothie
When you start off to make coconut smoothie, it is important that you do not throw away the coconut water, as it can either be used in the recipe or you can also choose to drink it. I will recommend making coconut smoothie using natural coconut itself, compared to the packaged one. If you are thinking in terms of health benefits of coconut, there are many. It has antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties, which you would not want to miss on. With all these benefits, I am not really bothered about coconut smoothie calories, as it is not everyday can we savor this delicious dessert (oops drink!).
Pineapple - Coconut
I am not a big fan of pineapples, however I do like it in the coconut smoothie. I would like to give you a tip. In case you are using fresh pineapple, you will have to add it before adding coconut, as fresh pineapple will take longer to blend than canned pineapple. If you use coconut meat, and raw meat at that, the recipe will be called raw coconut smoothie recipe.
Ingredients
- Coconut Meat ½ cup
- Pineapple Juice 1 cup
- Pineapple (cut) ½ cup
- Banana ½
- Ice ½ cup
- The first step to make the smoothie is to blend pineapple juice, ice and banana together, till you see a liquid with a slushy texture.
- Then add pineapple chunks and coconut milk and blend till the fruit is well mixed. When the ingredients are lightly smooth, understand your smoothie is ready.
If you look at the list of ingredients required to make this smoothie, I agree it is a long list. However, once you have a glass of this smoothie, you will certainly skip your breakfast or any meal you have after the smoothie.
Ingredients
- Coconut Milk 1 cup
- Protein Powder 2 tablespoons
- Virgin Coconut Oil 1 tablespoon
- Flax Seeds (ground) 1 tablespoon
- Vanilla Extract 1 teaspoon
- Almond Extract ¼ teaspoon
- Stevia Powder ¼ teaspoon
- Ice Cubes 8 to 10
- In a blender, blend coconut milk, protein powder, coconut oil well. You will have to blend till the oil mixes well and is not seen.
- Then add flax seeds, vanilla extract, almond extract and stevia powder and blend well again.
- Once you are sure that the oil has blended well add ice cubes, so as to make sure the oil does not lump.
If you have ripe banana and coconut milk at home and you want to put it to use, you can try this recipe.
Ingredients
- Ripe Banana (chopped) 1
- Coconut Milk ½ cup
- Milk ½ cup
- Vanilla Ice Cream 2 scoops
- Honey 1 teaspoon
- In a blender blend ripe banana and honey till pulpy consistency.
- Then add coconut milk, vanilla ice cream and milk to the banana and blend again till smooth, to find our smoothie ready.
I will recommend making this smoothie for breakfast, however it is good to be had at any time.

- Strawberries (hulled) 2½ cups
- Orange (peeled) 1
- Coconut Milk ½ cup
- Ice Cubes 4
- Place the strawberries and orange in a blender and blend till smooth.
- Then add coconut milk and ice cubes and blend till it is smooth in consistency.
