Belly Dancing Headwear

It isn’t really necessary to wear anything on your head for a belly dancing costume. If you have long hair it will be sufficient to let it flow as you make your dancing movements. If you don’t have long hair or you want something for your head you can wear a headband that has tiny coins or jewels attached. Belly dancers typically wear a bra top called a choli. These tops are usually very brightly colored and made of a smooth fabric like silk. Just add a mesh cover and you will transform your plain old bra into a belly dancing top.

Belly dancing pants are usually harem pants. They are very sheer and very flowing. Many times they are slit to show off the legs of the dancers. Of course, you will want to make sure that your pants match your top. Accesorize your harem pants with coins and fringe to give them a more authentic look. You can usually find belts that are a good choice for harem pants. Many times the belts are adorned with tiny coins.

Belly Dancing Shoes

Usually belly dancers dance barefoot. If it is not comfortable for you to dance barefoot then you can pick up some satin ballet slippers that will look just as well. Wear an ankle bracelet that is encrusted with shiny jewels. You will want to make sure that your feet are impeccably groomed with all the attention they will be getting.
