Clipped, Blackened Wings - Chapter 4
Kyo, a earth-bound human, holds a pure heart though the world tries its best to shatter it. Raven, is a girl who discovers the angel inside the pain-broken young man. What does fate have in store for two persons the world has come to hate?
My apologies on the chapter being so short, ran out of storyline and failed to come up with any ideas to add to it. Hope you enjoy it all the same, and thanks for your support.

An ambulance went roaring past him as he sat on the railing, its siren piercing the din that had been his mental solace. He sat in his usual spot, having just gotten home from work. He worked at the mall located in the next town, having to drive awhile to work an 6-hour shift. Everything about him was dark so it only made sense for the Hot Topicİ to hire him, saying that his customer service was the best that they had seen even for the upcoming holidays. It was not the best job in the world, but it brought in enough money to pay for the few needs that he had.
He sat cross-legged on the railing, gazing down the creek where the water flowed to a point in the distance behind him. Tonight it felt like it was going to rain, the pain in his shoulders that usually quieted to the night air was still there. He chose to wear a light shirt tonight; a simple black beater that was covered by a mesh that his coworker had thought would look fantastic on him. He saw little use in looks, but as long as his back was covered it benefitted him.
His co-workers all shared his taste in dark attire, but always seemed to hold that feigned look of sadness. They wore face-makeup that saddened their appearance to suit the genre of people that often crowded the small store. As much as they tried, he never wore any of that due to the fact that he continually held that sense with his composure. Why others wanted to wear masks to hide who they were, was beyond him but it seemed to suit a world that tried to hurt anything that could not fit into its every-man-is-on-his-own philosophy.
Another pair of sirens screamed passed him, two cars that seemed to be in a large hurry as they chased the ambulance. Once again shattering his thoughts, why would so small of a town have so much noise on a night like tonight? Curiosity got the best of him as he saw that all three had stopped a short distance up the road. In so small of a town it was odd to see so much activity on so mournful a night.
Balance came easily to him, and seeing as though it was so dark he thought it would be best to keep out of the lights that soon flooded the street. Standing up on the railing he summoned up enough strength to walk up the telephone wires the wound themselves from the ground to the tops of the poles that lined the street. He was not sure how he was able to do it, but it was a trick that he had picked up because the world was not oft to look in a direction where help did not often come from.
To him it was as simple as walking on the ground, the area that you walked on was just a lot smaller. But as he walked along towards the lights, he slowly began to recognize the buildings that were lit up. A growing sense of dread came over him as he paused on top of a pole behind the ambulance that had sped past him. He sat down and silently observed the figures as they ran around the lawn, coming in and out of the front door. A small crowd had formed on the sidewalks, held back by the lights and the line the police had formed.
From where he sat he saw two officers usher a large-sized man towards a waiting car. Even with the cuffs that were on him, he doubted if the officers could handle such a man if he wanted to get away enough. But nevertheless he doubled over to get in the car, and soon it was speeding away. The crowd turned and watched it, mumbling to themselves about something that he could not hear. They collectively broke down crying though when a crowd of medical personnel came out of the front door, carrying a stretcher that was draped with a white cloth. The sadness that he felt from the crowd and the older female the followed them about knocked him off his perch.
The doors to the ambulance swung open, two of the personnel hurriedly opened them up and yelled at the driver to get ready to leave. His attention was more enwrapped on the stretcher though. For as he saw them swing it up into the yawning opening it was a good thing that there was a tree underneath him, for he fell off the pole as he saw the black-and-white hair of the girl he had given the ride to earlier that afternoon. And as the tree uncomfortably caught him in its grasp, the ambulance sped away leaving him to get drenched with the rain the came pouring down.
