Simple Ways to Clean Oven Racks

Dashing Detergent
This a fabulous method to clean the oven. Place an old sheet or towel in the bathtub and place racks on the top. Now the bathtub should be filled with hot water enough to soak the racks. Add a quarter of a cup of degreasing dish soap, in either crystal or granular form. Let the racks soak in the solution for an hour. This will lead to removal of grease, automatically. As far the baked on food is concerned, scrub using an SOS pad. This may require a bit of elbow greasing, but nevertheless, the racks would come clean very easily and you are definitely going to be surprised by that! Leave the racks to soak overnight, in case they are extremely dirty.

This is No Trash Bag
Well, this is trash bag, but it is not going to be used for disposing trash, but to clean oven racks. What you need to do here is keep the racks in a heavy duty trash bag. This is necessary for a no mess cleaning method. It is preferable to do the whole cleaning stuff outside your doorway. Follow this by adding half a quart of ammonia, then make sure you seal the bag tightly. Let the racks soak in ammonia overnight. The next morning, rinse the racks with a garden hose - Voila! Grandma Says Vinegar
Ah, the wily old vinegar with its multifarious qualities score here too! Yes, this is straight from grandmother's kitty, but it is foolproof and trust me, it works! You require 5 teaspoons baking soda, 3 drops hand soap or liquid dish soap and 4 teaspoons white vinegar. Thoroughly mix all these into a thick paste. Apply this to the inside of the oven and scrub with sponge. Rinse and wipe clean. If you are looking at just cleaning oven racks with vinegar, you can add vinegar to a bathtub full of hot water and dishwater detergent and dump your racks in there. Let it stay for a while - the vinegar will cut through the grease and the dirt. Or else, just spray vinegar on the racks with a spray bottle, let it stay and clean it up.

I Will Clean Myself
By this I mean you could probably use the self cleaning setting in your microwave. Normally, it is better to take out the racks while the oven is going through a self cleaning option. But even if you keep the racks, it is fine. I mean if you are not very picky about how your oven looks, that is. However, they would lose their luster over a period of time.
