Rinse the hardware well, with clean water and wipe it dry with a clean cloth. Keep all the articles in open air for some time to dry them further.

Cleaning the Cabinet

The main source of dirt on the kitchen cabinets, is oil and grease. Besides these, food particles and smoke are also responsible for the dirty look. To get rid of the sticky substances, you should choose cleaning products that help to remove the grease. Mild dish-washing liquids work well on this type of grease. Firstly, wipe out those dirt and debris that are loosely stuck to various parts of the cabinet with a moist cloth. Dip a sponge in soapy water and rub it on both the sides of the shelves and also the borders of the cabinet. Keep the cabinet open for sometime, until the moisture dries up.

Cleaning the Cabinet's Doors

The doors of the kitchen cabinet often need special attention. You should give special care to those areas from where the hardware is detached. You can see thin lines of accumulated dirt bordering the knobs or handle areas. For this, make a solution with half cup of borax, two teaspoonful liquid detergent and a tablespoonful of ammonia. Pour it into a spray bottle and sprinkle it over the surface of the door and rub off with a clean cloth. In case, the stains and dirt is stubborn, you may need some vigorous rubbing.

Once your kitchen cabinet is ready after cleaning you can attach the hardware that you removed from the drawers and the doors. Place clean newspaper on the shelves of the cabinet and arrange all the bottles and the containers nicely. The amount of time required for cleaning kitchen cabinet hardware, largely depends on the extent of dirt that has accumulated on it.
