Chronicles of Insanity: Laughter - End of Chapter 5

Previously the "No Title" story. Had to add this little excerpt. It's pretty short but it's needed. Chapter 6 should be around... whenever I get to it.
Nic was done. She couldn't take it anymore. The horrible images mixed with static and white noise on the screen had taken their toll. She was strapped down in a chair. She couldn't move. She couldn't even blink. All she wanted was for the horror to stop, for the pain to stop. The chair buzzed and clicked. She could move. She desperately pulled the latches off her and ran from the screen. There was a gun on the table, not unlike the one she'd used on the tentacle creature. She couldn't take it anymore. She was never going to escape this place. The horror would just continued until she died, or went insane, and became another horror stalking the halls of this place. She reached for the gun with a shaky hand.

Crack!

Nic screamed. The large window to the right of the screen had a crack. She could hear a muffled voice. She could hear its desperation. It sounded like it was screaming for her. Nic shook her head.

"No. I can't. I can't!" She put the gun against her head, but her knees buckled when she heard the rage coming from the over side of the window. She figured it had to be one of her friends. She smiled as tears rolled down her face.

Crack! Crack!

"Nic! Put it down. Put it down, now!"

It was Joe. Nic had never seen him so angry - so desperate. Tears poured down harder. She hated that he'd have to watch, but she couldn't keep going. After what Hector showed her... What he'd done. What he'd shown her. What he said he do to her, and her friends.

"Sorry."

Bam.

Joe stopped. He closed his eyes. He shook his head slowly, while the rest of his body shook uncontrollably.

"Goddamnit, Nic." There was a loud click. The door on the left was now open. Joe looked up at the camera - the emotionless, forever blinking camera. He looked down at the gun in his hands. He opened the cylinder and spun it. With a flick of his wrist, Joe closed the cylinder and pointed it at the camera. His face was angry. He had the same menacing aura as when he confronted Hector in the cafeteria. However, suddenly, he smiled and spoke with his actions.

"Click. Click."

Boom.

Hector was excited. He may just be a machine but his circuits were flaring. He was on the verge of blowing his fuses. He couldn't hold still. He was shaking. He had never experienced this before. Many had wandered into this facility, by chance or to try to destroy the place. This group of kids had arrived by just chance. By chance, he'd found this kid. He knew he'd been placed here for a reason. Now he knew that reason. This kid, Joe, was going to give Hector a run for his money.

Hector couldn't take it anymore. He walked over to a plug-in the wall, latched his hand onto it and expelled some of this pent up energy. Hector walked back over to the screens. He could see everyone: the boy in the caves, the girl in the cavern, the boy in the residential area, and the girl in the botany area. Hector was going to lead Joe on a nice little wild goose chase. He'd bring Joe to all of his friends, and have him watch the horrors each face. He'd make Joe watch the death of his friends.

Hector had once told Joe that he wasn't crazy. "Not yet," he repeated to no one. Hector would push him to the edge. Hector was the Spark after all. Hector grinned a slimy, black metallic grin.
