Christmas Food
Christmas is at our doors and you are going to have to think about the food you will cook for your family on December 24th. Here are some ideas on healthy foods to serve.
Creating Christmas food with a particular theme to it used to be something that was very hard to do. However, with the recent move towards healthy living that people seem to be making, Christmas food has all of a sudden become a lot easier to manage. There are Christmas parties all around the country nowadays that just employ the theme of red, white and green as the Christmas colors and then create delicious plates of fruits and vegetables around those colors. Fruits like apples and pears are combined with vegetables like celery, broccoli and cauliflower to create and end product that is absolutely delicious.
Of course, having some sort of drink to wash down that food is always a good idea and in this respect creating something Christmas-like is very easy to do. For example, a punch bowl partitioned into three parts could serve punch that is colored red, punch that is colored green and punch that is colored white, all of which would be devoured by the guests.
The same can be done with skim milk, a little flavoring and a little food coloring. Or if you wanted to, you could even serve a combination of Coke, Ginger Ale and Carbonated Lemonade and have red, green and white cans together on the table. Getting creative with serving Christmas food is very easy to do when you remember that the colors themselves are often enough to evoke Christmas imagery in the minds of most people.
Another piece of Christmas food that absolutely needs to be in every Christmas party is sugar cookies. Even if you have a completely healthy party, you need to allow this to be the one exception to the rule because of the fact that sugar cookies with sprinkles and sugar particles on top are really a Christmas fixture.
Use cookie cutters in the shape of a Christmas tree, Santa Claus or Rudolph to make them Christmas friendly and you will find that the compliments from your guests will flow freely. People that don't want to eat them don't have to, but even if you have a completely healthy-themed party there are going to be some people that appreciate the effort you went to in order to make these cookies.
So there you have it, a number of ideas for Christmas food that are sure to make your next party a good one. With a little creativity and some hard work, you can even come up with your own ideas that might be better than these.
