Christmas Cake
What are the ingredients?
120 gms margarine
2 Eggs
120 gms Sugar
1 Tablespoon milk
175 gms refined flour
1 level teaspoon baking powder
50 gms mixed fruit( Raisins, Cherry, Currants Sultanas)
10 gms chopped almond
15 gms walnuts
How to make?
Take glass bowl and mix margarine and sugar well. Continue creaming the two until the mixture turns light and fluffy. Beat eggs and add to the mixture. Whirl well and gradually add flour to it. Do not forget to sift flour with baking powder. Blend the batter and after sometime mix the chopped dry fruits(wal nuts, almonds, raisins). Pour milk into the mixture and continue stirring, such that it becomes smooth. Oil a round cake tin and put the mixture of cake into it. Cover the whole with a grease-proof paper. Bake in a temperature of over 350 degree F. Check out after 20 minutes and when the top turns golden in color, take it out from the oven.
To garnish more, you can add flavor of chocolate or strawberry, according to choice. Add cherry to giv an attractive look.
Traditional Christmas Pudding:
What are the ingredients?
4 carrots
2 Apples
1 cup Raisins
1 cup Fine Bread Crumbs
1 ½ cups Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Ground Nutmeg
1 tsp Ground Allspice
½ cup White Sugar
2/3 cup Butter
1 tsp. Salt
4 Eggs.
How to make?
Mix the grated carrots, apples, raisins and bread crumbs in a glass bowl. Take another bowl and mix together baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and other spices included in the list. Make a cream of egg, butter and sugar in a separate bowl. Add flour mixture into it and stir properly. Now, combine the mixture of carrot, raisins and apples and mix well. After making the mixture smooth, transfer it to a lightly-greased, 2- quarter mold. Always place a steamer rack in the bottom of a big pot. Pour sufficient water into the bottom of the pot and cover the 2/3 portion of the mold. Let the mixture boil over medium temperature and after simmering for 2 hrs 45 minutes remove from the water setting and allow to cool. Pudding in ready to serve.
