Christmas Door Decorating Contest
Are you participating in this year's Christmas door decorating contest? Then perhaps the door decorating ideas mentioned in the article may come in handy...

Door Decorating Ideas
First and foremost, you need to know what are the exact contest rules. Depending on what the location is, school, neighborhood, or office, the rules can differ. These rules will tell you how creative you can be under what limitations. Plus, the contest rules will also mention what the theme of this year's decorating contest will be. Once you have this figured out, rest of the steps is smooth sailing.
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
For our first idea, let's take some inspiration from one of the most popular Christmas songs, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. To decorate your door in this theme, first cover the door with green decorating paper. Then you can make small Santa Claus and a woman's figures on cardboard. Cut them and paste on the green paper. Draw a Christmas tree on one side with a chimney underneath a flight of stairs. On those stairs, you can draw kids overlooking Santa Claus and the mom figures. Write in big letters "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" and add ribbons from both sides.
Christmas Cards Collage
Over the years, you must've received many Christmas cards. A great way to put them in use now is by making their collage. First, place a white or yellow decorating paper to cover the door. Take 2-3 thick ribbons and glue them to the door. Now take the best Christmas cards you can find in the lot and one by one, stick them all on those ribbons. Cut them in smaller pieces if you like or you can use the entire card to make the collage. In the end, make big golden ribbons and stick them on top of the ribbons. This way, when guests come to visit you, they can see their cards decorated on the door.
Snowman Everywhere You See
Let's do some fake snow decoration on your door. First, place a blue decorating paper to cover the door. Next, get as much cotton as you can find. We will use it to cover more than half of the door to make it look as if it's been snowing all night. Use glue to stick the cotton on the blue paper. Make small snowmen and Christmas trees to fix on the cotton. This way, you can see layers of snowmen standing in the snow. You can also use tiny Christmas ornaments as an embellishment.
Wreath and Christmas Lights
It may seem cliché, but this is simply the best, classic Christmas door decorating idea. Make your own outdoor Christmas wreath and get the Christmas lights to attach over it. Hang the wreath on the door and also attach a band of greens all around the door. Here, your Christmas lights will be placed. Use ribbons, fake fruits, and Christmas ornaments to decorate the rest of the door. In the night, when the lights are on, the entire door will look more than just gorgeous.
These were some fun door decorating ideas you can try this year. I hope that these suggestions gave you inspiration to be more creative with these ideas so you not only make a beautiful looking door, but do actually win the contest. All the best and Merry Christmas!
