Chris Rock’s No Baby Daddy

In April, journalist Kali Bowyer came forward and told the tabloids that Rock had fathered her 13-year old son, Jordan. She claimed the boy was the product of a brief romance between Rock and Bowyer when they were friends in the early 90’s. Last week the DNA test results revealed that Rock is not the father of the child. Bowyer claims that she has come forward because her son suffers from seizures and she believes there might be something in Rock’s medical history that can help explain why he suffers from the seizures. Rock believes that she is just seeking a huge financial payout.

Rock and his wife Malaak released a joint statement Monday that read, "Though we prefer to keep our private life out of the media, we feel it is necessary to respond to the many grossly inaccurate media reports that were sold to the tabloids by Kali Bowyer, who falsely claimed that Chris Rock fathered her 13-year old son. After multiple lies, including that Chris refused to establish paternity we personally asked the court to help us establish paternity so that we could put this harassment to rest. Last week it was concluded through DNA testing that Chris is not the father." Bowyer has requested a second DNA test and said, "No one made money from selling stories to the tabloids."

Reportedly, neither party was to discuss the results with the media and Bowyer said, There is a protective order regarding the results, so I will let my lawyers deal with the current situation. As for the second DNA test, Chris, myself, and our lawyers have to meet for mediation within 20 days. If he agrees to take the DNA test then, I see him do it and it comes back negative, I’ll move on." No word on whether or not Rock will agree to a second paternity test. Rock and Malaak have been married for 11-years and have two daughters – four year old Lola Simone and two-year old Zahra Savannah.
