On Thursday it was reported that the Rock’s marriage was on the rocks by the New York Daily News. There was even some speculation that Rock and his I Think I Love My Wife co-star Kerry Washington had developed a romantic relationship while filming. The Rock-Washington romance rumors recently heated up after she called off her two-year engagement to actor David Moscow. Rock’s rep reportedly said, "Everything is fine at home for the Rocks."
Apparently, the rumors got to the couple enough that they felt the need to address them. Rock and his wife released the following statement, "Though we have tried in the past to take the high road and not comment on the tabloid media, we find it necessary to express on record how unfortunate it is that the Daily News, specifically, and other tabloid outlets have chosen to print untrue rumors and lies about our family and marriage. It is extremely hurtful to us, our children, and our extended family. We remain, as always, very happy and committed to our marriage and the beautiful family that we have built."
Rock, 42, and Malaak, 37, met in 1994 at an Awards Show. They were married in November 1996 and have two daughters – 4-year old Lola Simone and 2-year old Zahra Savannah. This is not the first time that there have been reports of marital unrest. In November it was reported that Rock had hired an attorney and was going to begin divorce proceedings. One source said that the producers of I Think I Love My Wife persuaded Rock to wait until the movie is released on March 17 before moving forward with a divorce. Rock was hit with a paternity case about five-years ago when model Monika Zsibrita claimed he had fathered her baby. It was later revealed after three DNA tests that Rock was not the father. Rock’s rep claims that the relationship took place while he was separated from Malaak.
