Robinson filed for divorce Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court citing irreconcilable differences. He has asked for joint custody of the couple’s son, Ryder Russell, and is not petitioning for spousal support. Robinson, 39, and Hudson, 27, were married on New Year’s Eve in 2000. The seemingly happy couple announced their separation in August.
When Hudson and Robinson announced their separation it was rumored that she had fallen for her You, Me and Dupree co-star, Owen Wilson. The two reportedly had an affair while filming the movie. A source close to Hudson said, "This is not a fling. Kate is crazy about him. Owen gives her so much attention, and she loves it. [That’s] why she wants her marriage to be over." Both Hudson and Wilson have denied rumors of an affair despite the fact that they have been seen together numerous times. Wilson even met up with the Almost Famous actress while she vacationed with her two-year old son, Ryder, in Hawaii.
As for Robinson, sources say that he has moved on. He has even been spotted with an unnamed brunette looking more than friendly. Robinson’s career remains on track. He and the Crowes, they have a new guitar player and keyboardist, just released a double album titled The Lost Crowes. The album was released in September and features all rare tracks. They also just wrapped up a fall tour and are working on a new studio album, which is due out in 2007. This will be the first studio album in six years. Hudson, who may or may not be romancing Owen Wilson, has been keeping busy. She is starring in the new romance Fools Gold with Matthew McConaughey and will also star in the new comedy Bride Wars.
