Chris Brown Unlikely to Attend Kids’ Choice Awards
Chris Brown is unlikely to attend the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on March 28, but an online petition is asking that his nominations be withdrawn altogether.
Though it’s possible that Chris Brown could win a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award during the upcoming March 28 award show, it’s unlikely that he will attend the event given the recent legal problems he’s faced recently. A representative for Nickelodeon has noted that his network had no plans to oust Brown from among its nominees for favorite male singer and favorite song for his "Kiss Kiss" title.
Said the spokesperson, "Like all our KCA nominees Chris Brown was nominated by kids several months ago based on his body of work as a performer, and the kids who vote will ultimately decide who wins in the category." According to a source who is apparently close to Brown, the singer never intended to attend the show but, let’s face it, given that he’s been wailing on his girlfriend recently, it wouldn’t be a good idea to go either way. If nothing else, he’s moved a few steps away from "good role model" and a few steps close to thuggery, though only time will tell if the real Chris Brown is the one that fought with girlfriend Rihanna last month, must to the detriment of the latter.
Said a source, "Chris has been hanging out with Rihanna, working on his music and spending time with and speaking with his mother and pastor." Meanwhile, an online petition has circulated that is requesting that Nickelodeon remove Brown and Rihanna as nominees altogether. Thus far, the petition has picked up over 5,000 signatures. There is no word that Nickelodeon plans to bow to the pressure, but they’ll likely be relieved of any undue problems merely by the fact of Brown’s absence from the awards show.
