Chris Brown Starts Community Labor Sentence
Chris Brown recently performed his first of 180 hours of community labor near his home town of Richmond, Virginia.
Chris Brown was spotted on Wednesday picking up trash and cleaning police horse stables as part of his sentence of 180 hours of community labor. In addition to those chores, Brown will also eventually be removing graffiti and washing cars, presumably those of police officers or other law enforcement officials. The Richmond chief of police has stated previously that Brown will serve much of his community labor doing just that - community labor - and that he would not be speaking to children as part of his sentence fulfillment.
The police chief also explained that Brown's labor schedule would be flexible and allow him to serve his time around his other career commitments. The judge in Brown's case made a special point of ensuring that Brown would not be able to dodge hard physical labor as part of his punishment. The same judge also extended a restraining order that will require Brown to remain at least 10 yards from Rihanna at all times, with minor exceptions granted for awards shows and other professional engagements.
Recently it has been rumored that Brown and Rihanna plan to travel together to Mexico, beyond the jurisdiction of the restraining order. At this point, that certainly would not come as a surprise, although one has to wonder how wise it would be to so blatantly fly in the face of the specific wishes of a sitting judge. Rihanna and Brown are successful celebrities and they have the resources and the legal teams to help them out of most situations, but their specific incident should make it clear that they are not above the law. Rubbing a judge the wrong way may not be the smartest move, especially for Brown.
