Chris Brown must be overflowing with street cred among those who follow delicate R&B singers. It seems that Brown always finds ways of getting into scuffles with tough guys like Drake and Frank Ocean, even though he is still on probation for beating Rihanna in 2009. If anyone’s not noticing a pattern with Brown, then you’re probably not paying attention. Not only does Brown somehow find himself in altercations with people who likely never have problems with anyone else, he also manages to bring his entourage into play, ensuring that Brown himself is never in harm’s way.
The latest incident involves a dispute over a parking space outside a recording studio. Apparently, Brown and his "security team" didn’t like where Ocean parked his car, so they jumped him. Witnesses are reporting that Brown struck Ocean during the scuffle, although the only injury suffered is believed to be a cut finger.
Nonetheless, Ocean seems intent on filing charges and police are currently investigating the incident. Should charges be brought against Brown, it would likely place him in jeopardy of violating the terms of his probation from the 2009 Rihanna incident.
Hopefully, Saturday Night Live - or some other outfit - will make a point of lampooning Chris Brown’s tough-guy antics in the coming weeks. It would be great to see Brown square off in a faux-street fight with the likes of Lance Bass or Boy George in his prime. Brown has tried so hard to be "hard" that he is looking more and more like a desperate and troubled fool with every new incident. Here's hoping that someone helps him find the help he needs.
