Choosing furniture for small apartments

This problem usually comes up with singles and young adults sharing a studio or one bedroom apartment. If you apartment is a one bedroom you are in luck because you can do more with furniture. Furnishing a studio or very small apartment is a little trickier and requires more planning.

Always start with the kitchen and then move forward through the room. The reason for this is because your dining or breakfast nook is going to play a major role in your overall seating area. Wall décor, paintings and other decorations should be few and further apart, one every 5 feet. This minimalist setting will make your room much larger.

To make your floors look nice a kitchen mat and an area rug under the coffee table would go well. Lamps should be one floor lamp and one table lamp, should give this room plenty of light.

All of these items are your main furnishings that will make your living space more comfortable. I did not mention TV’s or stereos here because some people like them and others don’t.
