We are all very blessed to live
In this, the greatest and freest of all
Most of us are willing to give
And work hard so our kids can stand tall

But not all things will always be fair
Some of us have more talent and luck
Some of us face misfortune's cold stare
Some of us get in a rut and get stuck

Then there are those who seem
To have captured life by the throat
They skim through as if in a dream
And not much rocks their new boat

Some take on an air of superiority
Some believe they are better than you
And we sometimes give them authority
So they expect us to give them their due

"What more have you done for me lately?
They ask. I need to go on another trip
I need my life to be evermore stately
And to sail on an even classier ship

And I expect you to lift me
And carry me to greater heights
So what in the world could your problem be?
After all, I own all of your rights!"

So here is the root of the evils
Learn it well now at all costs
