There are 4 municipalities in China, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing. There are so many cities in China, some have long history such as Xi'an (where you see Terracotta Army), some have very good economy such as Shenzhen, but no one yet gained a municipality status.

As a travel destination, people tend to overlook Chongqing, and in favor of more high profile cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming, Xi'an, however, you will discover this city has much more to offer.

Chongqing Hot Pot

There is Korean Barbecue, and there is "Hot Pot", then what is "Hot Pot"?

Hot Pot is a way of eating. The restaurant will have tables with a pot set on the table, after you order from the menu, the waitress will bring a set of cold dishes to your table, then you drop the food into the hot pot and eat them after it is cooked. People call it HOT pot because there will be heating under the pot.

Chongqing Accommodation

The city offers a great selection of hotels, which will suite all budgets and tastes, options include big hotel chains such as Marriot, Holiday Inn, Hiltion and Shangarila. A wide variety of less expensive, and privately owned hotels and hostels also can be found.

Chongqing Sightseeing

There are abundant cultural and sightseeing attractions. Chongqing has a long history, there are many nature spots, and chances for outdoor activities. Chongqing is famous also because of Yangtze River cruise. It is one of the most busy ports.

Chongqing Weather

It's humid in Chongqing, there are four distinct seasons. Summers (from June to August) are very hot, and it's the hottest in the country in fact. You may check weather online before you go.
