Chapter ten [ Yay! Double Digits!]

I was in a really bad mood when I returned home that evening. Kyle wasn't back from work yet and that put me into an even worse mood. I'd been feeling like this a lot lately. Moody, Tired and depressed. It was made worse by the fact that I was running out of time. I had made a decision. I wouldn't tell him as he would tell, my family and get them to try to stop me. It was the right decision he just wouldn’t agree. I knew I couldn't live without Kyle even if I had only known him for fifty-five days. Ya, that’s right I'd been counting the days I had with him. They were so precious. There was always the chance that I would only have another thirty-five days left with him. I didn't know why my love was so strong for him or how it was. But it my love was neverending and I loved it. If Kyle died, I would probably die of the pain. But I wasn't going to give myself that chance. If my one and only true love died, he wasn't going alone. I would join him.

"Let me get this straight, kay? The Kyle Mason is going to propose?"

My brother shook his head.

"I can't believe it! Are you sure you're our baby brother?"

"Quite sure Guys!"

They'd been at this for the past hour. The two of them. Sean and Martin , why did I have to born last? All I'd asked was for them to help me buy a ring for Melissa! So far they'd asked me if she'd bewitched me, if she was pregnant, if she was a golddigger and if I'd hit my head. They couldn't believe that I Kyle Mason was going to ask my girlfriend to marry me and they had yet to met her. When they did they would understand. My mother had invited us over for Sunday dinner and I had as of yet to tell Melissa she would be meeting my family in a mere two days. I hoped she wouldn't be mad. But I had honestly just forgotten. She had been thinking something over for the past few days, I had a feeling that I wouldn't like what it was. It couldn't of been that important, she'd have told him by now if it was. They told each other everything.

"Bye Bruv! and Good Luck!"

I stopped outside her apartment door before going in. Here it goes, all I want in one question.

I heard Kyle come in two hours after I did. He seemed nervous about something. He walked over to the couch I was sitting on and sat down beside me. I kissed him softly on the lips. He took a deep breathe before returning my embrace. He pulled away from me and I looked at him confused. He never pulled away from me.

"I have to ask you something."

"Okay."

I was getting nervous now. Was he going to break up with me?

He got down on one knee and clasped my hand. I stared down at him in shock. He looked like his life depended on what he was doing and ya know what? It might have.

"Melissa Hale. I love you more than life itself. I promise to continue to do so for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?"

I stared down at him delirious with joy. I felt my eyes begin to water and to realized I was about to cry going I was so happy. I was finally able to croak out an answer.

"Yes! I would love to be your wife!"

He stood up and kissed me and we were again "distracted".
