First, leave the chocolate to dry until it hardens, else blot the chocolate with some soft cloth. See that you do not spread the chocolate stain while blotting. Leaving the stain to dry is always a better option instead of blotting. Later, scrape the stain with a blunt edge. Use a mixture of liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water and apply it to the carpet. Sponge the carpet with this solution and later blot the liquid from the carpet with a clean cloth. Repeat the procedure until the chocolate stain disappears. If the stain does not disappear, make a mixture of one tablespoon of ammonia and one cup of water. Gently apply this mixture to the stained area and blot it with a clean cloth. Ensure that no ammonia remains on your carpet. Using ammonia can be dangerous, so it is recommended that you preferably use the first method.
