Chocolate Cake Frosting
Chocolate cake is a favorite of everyone. It tastes wonderful with a soft, delicious frosting. Here are some excellent chocolate cake frosting recipes.
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients
4 Tbsp all-purpose flour (sifted)
1 Cup milk
¼ Cup cocoa powder
1 Cup butter (cold or frozen)
1 Cup granulated sugar
½ Tsp vanilla
Preparation
In a saucepan, heat together sugar, milk and cocoa powder. Then, whisk in all-purpose flour. Bring the mixture to simmer. Keep stirring, until the mixture becomes thick. It would take about 4 minutes. Then, remove the pan from heat and put it into refrigerator to cool down. When it becomes thick, take out from the freezer. When your chocolate cake is ready, take out the frosting from the freezer. Cut cold butter into chunks and add into partially cooled chocolate mixture. Using an electric mixer, whip at medium speed, until butter is mixed well. Then, whip the frosting at high speed for about 5 minutes, until it becomes fluffy and light. Spread the frosting on the cooled chocolate cake.
Rich Chocolate Frosting
Ingredients
1 Cup baking cocoa
1 Cup butter
4 Cups confectioner's sugar
½ Cup milk
1 Tsp vanilla extract
Preparation
In a small mixing bowl, soften the butter. Then, add cocoa, confectioner's sugar and vanilla extract to the butter. Gradually, beat it. Then, add milk, until you obtain the spreading consistency of frosting. Then, frost your chocolate cake beautifully.
German Chocolate Cake Frosting
Ingredients
¾ Cup milk powder
2 Egg yolks
¾ Cup sugar
½ Cup chopped nuts
1½ Cup coconut
1 Tbsp margarine
1 Tsp vanilla
Preparation
In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks. Add sugar, milk and margarine to it. Cook this mixture over medium heat for about 12 minutes with constant stirring, until the mixture thickens. Remove the mixture from heat and add nuts, coconut and vanilla. Now, your frosting is ready to spread on the German chocolate cake.
Peanut Butter Frosting
Ingredients
1 Cup sugar
½ Cup milk powder
2 Tbsp butter
½ Cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
1 Tsp vanilla
Preparation
In a saucepan, heat together sugar, milk powder and butter. Allow it to boil for about 2 minutes. Then, add vanilla and peanut butter. Stir, until it becomes smooth.
Chocolate Honey Frosting
Ingredients
125g Cream cheese, softened
30g Dark or milk chocolate, grated
¼ Cup honey
125g Unsalted butter, softened
Preparation
In a small mixing bowl, put cream cheese and butter. Mix well using an electric mixer, until it becomes fluffy and light. Then, add honey and grated chocolate. Then, mix it well, until well combined.
