Chinese Feng Shui Tips
An ancient art which began in China and has now gained prominence in every part of the world.
This ancient art was started in China about 3,000 to 5,000 years ago. At that time this practice was used to select the ideal and most honorable spot in which the dead could be buried. This was said to benefit future generations as the dead were revered.
The Landform Classification (ti-li)branch and the Building Characteristics (chai-yun)branch are branches of Feng Shui. The flow of energy within a structure and the effect it has on its occupants, is studied under the building characteristics branch. The landform classification branch studies the effect of the energy onnected to landforms, and the results of that on a building or burial site.
A fulfilling, happy, healthy and prosperous life, is something everyone yearns for.
Here are a few tips to make those wishes come true...
- Hide sharp edges or corners with a soft material.
- Always sleep or work with a wall behind your back. This will ensure that you feel rested and are supported in your future career plans.
- A crystal placed on your table or hung by your window will activate positive Qi and dissipate negative ones.
- Do not have the child's bedroom or study above a garage or below a toilet, as this will decrease his concentration.
- To have luck and wealth in your business, string two, six or seven bells on a red string and hang on your doorknob.
- For a long and fruitful life,position a statue or picture of a crane in the area where you and your family spend most time together.
- Place a dragon facing the window, on the right hand side of your desk. This will be further you career prospects.
- Fill a pot with coins, animal figures, crystals and rice and hide it in the cupboard. This symbolizes luck in regard to wealth.
- Store clutter in boxes and purify the home with incense, as a cluttered home or office is not conductive to good Qi.
- Place jade tortoises and coins close to your bedroom as they are considered auspicious and health-rich items.
- Include a dragon figurine next to to the bed to invoke yang energy. This helps if you are trying to conceive a child.
- If you have bought antique furniture, purify it outside the house using salt, sound, fire, or water.
- If you love pets, keep a fish or bird. Both these animals are powerful representations of wealth.
- You can place the Buddha on an elevated area in the dining room, lounge or living room.
- If you have a sick member at home, use flowers and plants to decorate the room. This attracts a dose of yang energy.
- White roses should not be given to your loved one. You could give it to a mature person.
- Lovers can display mandarin ducks in pairs, as they stand for happiness and fulfillment.
- Guardians, like the Qi Lins and Fu Dogs should be placed by the entrance with their heads facing outside. This is done to protect you and your family from harm.
- Avoid sitting with the door behind you in the office, it could signify demotion.
- To invoke good business, put Chinese coin tassels in ledgers and books.
- After purchasing crystals, soak them in a bowl of distilled water overnight to cleanse them.
- Avoid using yang colors like red, orange and bright yellow in the bedroom.
- A rooster statue is a good talisman to use against infidelity. While placing it ensure it is facing the main door.
- Hang family portraits in the center of the room, this encourages family harmony.
- Leave the barbacue pit in the South sector of you home.
- If you are an unmarried male, make sure that the decoration in your home is not too feminine.
- Do not have a light bulb directly above your bed. Having one only generates too much Chi and makes it difficult to fall asleep.
- Include tubers and tuna fish in your diet if you are required to be more determined for a particular matter or project.
- Do not gift blades or knives to a friend or relative, as this is symbolic of severing a relationship.
- Paint the cash box red, as it is the color of fortune. It is said that red attracts wealth and encourages growth in business.
